I told my journalism staff that if they did a good job at a competition today, that we would have a little party to celebrate on Monday. I was thinking about doing a little ice cream party and was wondering if anyone had any cute suggestions that would be easy to do in a classroom. Thanks!

A make your own sundae party is a great way to go....get every topping imaginable, and let them pick what they like.
mini marshmallows, chocolate syru, strawberry syrup, mini chocolate chips, cherries, sliced strawberries, gummy bears, sprinkles, m&ms, cruched up oreos, and whipped cream are just a few favorites.

I was going to suggest this.

We did this for an end of summer school when I had grades 6-8 one summer. We got the boxed ice cream and unfolded the box and sliced it with a knife into equal parts. A teacher who had done the same party in earlier years said that is the easiest and fastest way to pass it out - easier and more fair than a scoop.

Is there any thing that ties in with the theme of the competition? Or their theme?

The competition was primarily for newspaper writing, and our newspaper is called Hoof Prints. Our yearbook theme this year is "I think you should know..."
