I bought the kitchen aide from Costco I think it's the professional one 600 HD 6 qt. I used it for my Christmas sugar cookies and other treats and I LOVE it!!!!!
I want to get the ice cream maker attachment but I guess I have to by a certain model for the type I bought . I'm not at home so does anyone know what model and where I can get the best deal ? Thanks

Oh if you hv the ice cream maker how do you like it? Where do u find recipes for it?

I have the ice cream maker. According to the manual, the ice cream maker "has been approved for use with all Kitchen Aid household stand mixers". There are instructions to attach it to both a tilt-head and a bowl-lift mixer. Essentially the freeze bowl replaces the mixing bowl, and you attach the adapter ring and the drive assembly and dasher to the KA motor head. No matter which model mixer you have, you're good to go!

I'm in Canada, I got a deal on the ice cream maker through the Shopping Channel here. KA deals come up every few months.

As to recipes, the ice cream maker manual has recipes for a few ice cream, gelato and sorbets. The KA Mixer Bible also has a few recipes.

We also have the ice cream maker, have had it for 5 or 6 years. At that time, I used a % off coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond, and additional savings since at that time, kitchen aide had a rebate too.

There are some great copycat recipes for Ben & Jerry's ice cream favors on the internet. You may want to check them out!

I read somewhere that the ice cream maker bowl I had looked up awhile back said the one list was good for all model except 2 and one was my model

Suggest you look up your KA mixer model number on the KA website to find out if it is compatible with the ice cream maker you want. I have an older large sized bowl-lift model and have never had any issues with any of the attachments.

I bought a similar mixer at Costco 4 years ago this spring. I use my ice cream attachment which I had from my old tilt head kitchen aid. It attaches differently but I had no issues getting it to work with mine.

We have gotten a lot of use out of the ice cream maker attachment. I tend to stick with a basic recipe using egg beaters. I think this is the one I use. I've also used oreos and m&ms instead of cookie dough.

I tried the peanut butter cup recipe which I liked a lot (tastes like B&J) but my dd didn't.

We also liked nutella gelato:

It seems like I spend more than if I were to buy ice cream on sale, but it's fun to make and tastes great.

ok looks like i need model
KAICA ice cream maker.

I used my kitchen aide for mash potatoes and I'm loving it!!!!. I said I wouldnt want any other attachments but I'm loving it that other attachments might come in handy!
