Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich Battle

OK, both Main Street Bakery and Sleepy Hollow in MK serve the ice cream cookie sandwich. It's cookies. It's ice cream. It's big. It's delicious. It's calling to you. It's time for a battle between these two snack titans. Which one is better? Why?

I'm thinking it's a function of 1) distance from my current location, 2) known or expected line length, and 3) whether or not I'd really just rather have a dole whip float.

I wanted to see more responses to this thread. I've missed having one of these on my last two trips and wanted to know where I should be getting one! Come on guys, let us know what you think.

Neither. I'm boycotting ice cream cookie sandwiches since they removed them from the snack credit list at Dinobites in the AK. :rotfl: I do know that I absolutely won't get one at the POFQ food court...they charge you THREE snack credits: 1 for each cookie and 1 for the ice cream! (I was never that much into ice cream cookie sandwiches anyway, dole whip floats and funnel cakes are my faves)

I've never tried the one at Sleepy Hollow...but let's just let the yummy ice cream sandwich at Main Street Bakery speak for itself:

My son, the ice cream cookie connoisser, says definitely Sleepy Hollow-more ice creams to choose from and the cookies are better...

Is the Main Street Bakery still allowing the ice cream sandwich as a snack? I had big plans to use all my snack credits there in August!

I finally got to eat one of these earlier this month and it was delicious! I got mine from Sleepy Hollow. However, I also had the cookies from MSB and they were just as good, so I would probably like one from there just as well. They only gave me a choice of vanilla and mint ice cream. Are there usually more?

I've only gotten the ice cream sandwich at MSB. Tried it on two different occasions & thought the cookies were rock hard finally had to separate it & eat the ice cream with a spoon so twice was enough for me. If they are better at Sleepy Hollow I might try again if I can talk myself out of the funnel cake. :lmao:

I have only had them at Dinobites and now they are no longer a snack credit there...so I'll be trying them at MK this year. Are they still a snack credit at both Sleepy Hollow and MSB?

And on a side note since a few have mentioned funnel cakes are they a snack credit at Sleepy Hollow?

Can't wait...

I like Main Street Bakery! Super Yummy and cookie choices!

My understanding was the cookies at Sleepy Hollow come from there anyway so in my head (and it may not be logical) they would be a little fresher at Main Street Bakery.

Unfortunately, the correct answer is "sometimes", it's been 50/50 lately if the CM will allow it for a snack credit; that's for the powdered sugar ones only. Personally, I've never had a problem using a snack credit for one, last time was Nov. '09, but I've read here that others have been denied. Best to ask the CM before ordering.

I was there in July and the Ice Cream Sandwich was no longer a snack credit at MSB. There was no symbol and when we asked we were told it had been removed.

The funnell cake at Sleepy Hollow did have the snack credit symbol next to it.

It looks like we got our best deals with snack credits in May 2009 when we got the shaved ice at Kaki Gori in EPCOT and the ice cream sandwiches at MSB. Thanks to the DISboards I knew how large the ice cream sandwiches would be and we just got two and cut them in half to share between the 4 of us.

I had no problem with it end of July! I wish they would be more consistent!

We got ice cream cookie sandwiches at SH in May and had no problem getting them as a snack.:cool1:

Thats so strange! I was there from the 8th - 21st and every time I checked it wasnt a snack :( Maybe when its busier they remove it as a snack as more people will buy it?

When we inquired about it the woman was pretty coarse about the fact it wasnt a snack, like as if i was asking a stupid question. Ah well, i'll just have to try next time!

My "bottomless pit" of a son loves the ice cream sandwich, and he does NOT share. (I obviously failed as a mother :lmao:) When we order it we usually ask them to try and run it as a snack credit. If the machine takes it, then it is still kosher, and if the machine refuses, or the CM is not in the give it a try mood, we pay OOP.

We have gotten several snacks that were not wearing the snack credit emblem with a snack credit. It even surprised the CM a few times. As with most things if you try when the establishment isn't swamped they are more willing to "give it a try" than when things are stacked to the rafters.

So, the moral of the story is, when in doubt (or just hoping) try running it as a snack credit. The check out computer is less likely to be forgetful, or having a bad day, or have been mistrained. (This came as advice from a family member who works at the CS at SSR) Remember that sometimes a CM does not usually work the establishment you are frequenting and they may not know definatively.
