Ice cream at SSR

We bought SSR when the sales center was at BWV so we have never been in the new SSR sales center. I read that there is an ice cream parlor in there! Has anyone got an ice cream there? I am guessing it is for people who have just completed the tour.

What is it like? As existing members I dont suppose we can get an ice cream there. Maybe we should pretend to be considering another add on!!! LOL

Any more info on the sales center and ice cream parlor?

We recieved ice cream in the parlor after our tour and purchase in October. The ice cream tasted identical to the ice cream at the Nestle Ice Creeam Store on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom, which was fabulous...

We too received ice cream after our tour. And yes it was very good. I have no idea if you can just stop by and buy though.

I haven't seen explicitly saying it was open to anyone. I guess I just assumed it was for those at the DVC center. Honestly, I never thought about it, though! When we're in an ice cream mood, we normally just go to Ghirardelli's at the marketplace.

I am 99.99% positive that the ice cream shop is only for people taking a tour or joining DVC.

There's no place to pay or anything, so I think it's just for people taking the tour.

I was wondering about doing the tour even though I'm already a member. I have only seen SSR from across the water at DTD, so I'd like to tour the property to see what I actually own.

I was curious if I could go on the tour or if they would just let me wander around and check out the model rooms.

There is a daily open house at SSR to view model suites in the Springs section. I can't remember the time ....late afternoon though.

I actually took the tour, as a DVC member, with my mother who wanted to understand more about DVC and see their offerings. I too bought SSR without seeing it.
