Depends on where you're looking. The Weather Channel just showed a time lapse over three hours of Fort Myers Beach, water came up over 6ft in that time. Bigger problem is how slow this thing is moving. I'm hearing some areas will be without power for two weeks.

They are starting to report that it's moving faster than they expected, so not as bad as they were projecting before... maybe the news is trending to the good.

Is this shaping up to be not as bad as expected, or is it still just too early to tell? The news I'm watching isn't covering much beyond the radar, but the times they have newscasters on location, things don't look as bad as I was expecting them to look (yay). Fingers crossed!

Wow, definitely hadn't seen that footage yet. I think the news I'm watching is based out of Tampa, so maybe that's why.

Could be....the destruction in Fort Meyers and Naples is devastating. Sanibel and Captive must be decimated. It's going to be a long recover. I just hope that people got out.

I hadn’t look at the updated yet but it was def forecasted to slow down, although not as much as it was forecasted to if it had gone more north. This is all so horrible.

My mother reported that she is okay in Gulfport, but she moved from the inland home of a friend to a waterfront condo?!?!? And she's on the first floor! I give up - hope she makes it, but she's definitely losing her power of reason/common sense.

How did you fare? We're in New Orleans, and the house held, though it shifted. The aftermath was brutal, but we feel very blessed.

We were very blessed. I'm in Thibodaux. We lost a fence and a few shingles. Others around us lost everything.
