Aww Panda I am so sorry to hear of your ban. This makes me a bit more fearful now talking to my friends who know me especially if they go in the past chat logs. I don't think I have said anything too personally identifiable but who knows. Here's hoping the month goes fast!

I am wondering about the nature of the response and the "personally identifiable information" they mention.

Does anybody think that this could be something as simple as saying something like, "it is snowing a lot here?" The reason I ask, up here in northern Indiana we have had massive snows that have been all over the news. I wonder by saying that we are having so much snow, that would indeed identify me as being from the midwest and to a certain extent a specific area.

Maybe they are cracking down on this sort of thing, although I really don't think it would identify my location. (I must remember not to say that however, just in case). My daughter got an hour ban a very long time ago for saying a certain show was about to start. I guess they figure that it identified her time zone.

I guess I need to keep my chat isolated to very non-specifics to be on the safe side. Maybe to mention the weather or things of that nature gives them cause to ban.

I do not think so because here in Ontario we are having major snow too. For where I live it is normal. But for Toronto is it the most snow in February that they ahve had in 50 years.

Have no idea what they think is personal information. Like there was a kid in my room last night talking about youtube. And how these VMK people made a video and wished his friend was dead. It really upset some kids saying why would someone wish someone dead.

Bet those kids are still playing. Though I told them to report the players who made it. Nothing really can be done since it is outside of VMK.

Sorry to hear about your ban.

I really wish they would elaborate more as to what it was for the bannee. If the point of a ban is to learn from your mistake, but if you really don't know what behavior or what was said that made you become banned, how do you learn to prevent it from happening in the future. Sounding like a parent here, but a report card with the time and date stamp with the actual text of what was said that prompted the ban would really be beneficial.

Panda, have you requested a transcript of your chat? I know ppl who have done this to see exactly what has been said. I also wonder if it's giving out too much info by saying, "I'm going to WDW for the day." Hmmm...I guess it could be a quick 1 day trip via plane...

I agree with Disvaclub and Amber. The only way you can learn "and reflect on" what you did is to know what was said in the chat. Something that to you and me would be innocent might trigger the warning flags in VMK.
As a side note, i was having a conversation in VMK with a friend of mine last night. We work together, and she hasn't been on VMK much in the last month (had to show off all the new magic!). I had to send her an email warning her not to say too much when the conversation strayed into talking about work. Never thought about it much in the past, but nowadays...just didn't want to end up on the wrong end of VMK! (It might actually lead to real work getting done!)
