I wouldn’t mind losing The Rivers of America if they include some form of water on the back side of those snowy mountains from the cars land ride.
Maybe like the waterfalls at California Adventure.

Yeah, this kind of thing is what I'm hoping we will end up with

It’s the body of water surrounding Tom Sawyer’s Island at MK. You walk around it between HM and BTMRR.

And you ride it on the riverboat.

I love riding that riverboat, in both Disneyland and MK, but it does take an enormous amount of space. Maybe it was inevitable that they would have to use that space for an expansion of the park.

In all our trips, we only visited Tom Sawyer island twice, and never did the river boat. We have bad memories from our first time on Tom Sawyer island... in the blink of an eye our three young kids were missing, and then soon after grandma was missing. It all worked out but was scary for a bit. That place is a maze of paths and caves.

It was overdue to be replaced with something that more guests will use to enjoy, and to help relieve the crowding and capacity issues. I do like the Riverwalk/dock area and will miss that but am glad to have something more usable come in instead.

I've always loved the dock area in Frontierland. But honestly, when I'm there, I'm usually booking it to big thunder or haunted mansion and don't typically spend a lot of time just lounging around there basking in the views. That place is a shell of what it was when I was a kid, when the Davy Crocket Explorer canoes and Mike Fink Keel boats were a thing.

Yes. You hear a lot of talk about how WDW shouldn't just mirror what's in DL and vice versa.

I'll just pretend they never brought rivers of America to WDW, and left it unique DL. Meanwhile we will hopefully be getting a couple of awesome Cars attractions.

Looking at the concept art, which is kinda of hard to tell what’s what, but the area in the bottom left looks like waterfalls and in the back it looks like geysers shooting up. Hopefully, there will be some sort of waterway connecting them.
