I would like to compile a useful thread with lots of information on how to get to DLP from the UK (at first, we could extend it to other countries later)

Can you give me any helpful information or any useful links - maps, timetables etc. Or just any helpful hints you can give, that made things easier for you.

Thank you. :)

I am sorry, how do you post you link up saying "here" rather than the long list of numbers like mine?

Click the little box above the area where you type the text (as long as you are not in fast reply) that looks like this:
createlink.gif
- in the first text box that pops up type the name of the link, and in the second box that pops up copy the link.

You learn something new every day :) I'd always done it the old fashioned way {url=www.whatyouwanthere.com}here{/url} note the { are replaced by [ ;)

Thanks everyone - this is great. Keep them coming if you know anymore!!

Travelling by car was not a big deal. In our first trip we left Cambridge in the evening, my hubby left the office, picked me and our suitcase, and drove to Dover, we embarked on the boat, disembarked, drove again to get Noisy le Grand were we arrived around midnight. Hubby booked a room offsite in a cheap hotel, Formule1, pratically a bed with a room around.
Sorry for the funny English, but hope this helps.

Hi Bexx

From Scotland I have always tried the following airlines to be cheapest to CDG

Glasgow- Budget - Air-Scotland- only fly mon/wed/fri not great times but very cheap

Edinburgh -Air France - good flight times but a bit more pricey

We have been back and forward this year - we are lucky as we live in Kent -so are spoilt for choice!
Eurostar is brilliant - we park at Ashford in the open air carpark - the first you come to as you are directed into the International station. The benefits of Eurostar are that you just sit on the train and it is door to door - however - once you are at Disney you are then tied to the park, and cannot easily get to Val D'Europe, also the direct trains dont get there until 1130 and return at around 1800 - so even on an overnighter you really only get one full day in the park at the cost of a two day park hopper ticket. (We had seasons so it didnt matter too much)
All the other ways mean about a four hour drive once in France - I prefer Eurotunnel and my DH prefers the ferry - so you pays your money and takes your choice! The tunnel is far quicker and more convenient - and you can pick up good offers which make it almost as cheap as the ferries - the last time we went it was about £98.
DH thinks that the ferries are more 'like travelling' - he enjoys going up on deck. We had a pretty hideous time when we went over for one night on a particular line named after an English County - we travelled back very late and the other passengers seemed to come straight out of central casting for a murder mystery - but Sea France have always been good.
Have not been on the Sea Cat as the times are not early/late enough for us!
We worked the price out that if three of us were travelling it just about broke even to go on Eurostar at the very cheap rate - any more and it had to be the tunnel or the ferry.
Travel Lodge at Ashford is very convenient - just off the motorway and brilliant for Eurostar and only two junctions to the tunnel - and only £26 if you are lucky!
We always travel hideously early -around 0500- then stop for breakfast halfway down the motorway in France, and leave Disney at around 1900 to get back to the Ferry/tunnel at around 2300. We made three one night stops earlier this year before we learnt the error of our ways - it was just stupid and we were all worn out.
I want to go back now!!
Sorry for length of post!
Liz
