i would like to recommend a movie..........

Rise of the Planet of the Apes................not at all what you would think, in fact i thought it was a very "human" drama....and while i am at it, Captain America the First Avenger was also worth seeing. these, along with Super 8, were the best movies of the summer.

The original Planet of the Apes gave me nightmares for days after I saw that.
I saw the trailer for this one and I had to cover my eyes, I felt like a kid again.

We saw it yesterday in DTD..it was great !! My 15yo son is a huge fan of the original movies ..he got them for Christmas a few years ago...and he loved the new prequel !!

LOL...I saw it with my folks this morning and the first time he appeared my mom said "Here comes trouble!"

Poor Tom...he's going to play a nice guy one day, I'm sure.

The movie was excellent. A few nice (and definitely not subtle) references to the original film, and the motion-capture/CG was amazing.

I almost jumped out of my seat in one scene.

I'm actually afraid to see it. Not because it's scary, but I'm worried there is going to be some sad lab testing with the apes in the beginning. Can anyone tell me if there is?

DH is going to see it on Saturday while DD11, DD6, DSIL and I see the Glee Concert Movie! Figured that would make all of us happy! He likes the Glee music but would enjoy Planet of the Apes much more! I will probably see it when it comes out on DVD. Never got to see Super 8 so I'll add that to my list.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has been my favorite this summer and I was pleasantly surprised with the Smurfs movie on Friday! It was really cute!

hard to compare the two.........this one would compare better to Conquest of the Planet of the Apes......it does lend itself to someday getting around to a remake of the original.......there are two short scenes that tell you that.........did anybody else notice them????????

Yep.

And considering how well it did this weekend, I think we're getting a sequel. Although I'd bet on seeing more of Ceasar and the ape takeover before we get a remake of the original film.
