I was just reading menus, i"m all booked but I still look through menus to see if there is anything I may wanna change last minute....got me thinking...

San Angel Inn is so romantic and beautiful perfect for a dinner date but Oh my the menu is so lackluster. For the prices the food is just awful (my opinion-not gonna debate it) I would LOVE to change the menu revamp it. This restaurant has so many possibilities. Does anyone else think some restuarants need a menu sweep?

In my opinion, Sci-Fi at the Studios needs a menu overhaul, or more specifically, a contiguous theme. My wife and I are always looking for different places to eat each trip, and we always look at the menu of Sci-Fi, thinking that its unique atmosphere would be really cool. But then, when we review the menu online and see bizarre and varied offerings such as seared tofu (really?), beef and bleu salads (sounds like some poor menu item is going to get beaten up), and ribs that apparently wandered in from St. Louis, then we wind up saying, forget it, let's just go to a different country in World Showcase. It's as if a group in the Food & Bev. dept. got together and each had a different idea for the theme: Italian! No wait, Asian! No, how 'bout a steakhouse? No, no, let's do BBQ! BBQ? No, deli is the way to go! No, you're all wrong! American-style bar food is where it's at! Oh, screw it! Let's just serve all of the above while showing clips from "The Blob!" It's perfect!

I would also love to enjoy a meal at San Angel but, I agree, the menu never appeals to me. :(
As for Sci-Fi... I learned years ago to go for lunch only. I love the idea of sitting in a car, watching cheesy flicks and enjoying a burger, fries and a shake. For some reason, the dinner menu is odd. To me, at least. But, it works out well for us. We just schedule an early ADR (usually around 11am) and just grab a granola bar in the morning to tide us over until burger time.

I agree about Sci-Fi... A 50s-style carhop-type menu of onion rings, burgers, and other American classics would fit so much better than the this-and-that menu that they offer now, particularly since they really don't do those more creative/complex/ethnic choices all that well anyway.

The one that I think most desperately needs a makeover is Capt Jacks. It is such a nice location but the menu is uninspired at best and it just can't compete with the other Downtown Disney choices. The building/atmosphere is perfectly suited for a casual east-coast style American seafood joint and would work so well with a simple menu of fried and steamed seafood choices (shrimp, crab, clams, scallops), hush puppies, baked potatoes... Simple, tasty food with wide appeal rather than the vaguely seafood-themed but largely incoherent and unoriginal offerings they serve now.

I agree with Capt. n Jacks (sp). I looked at the menu and was like-PASS! :confused3

Just reminded me of Applebees or something close to home. I've only done Sci Fi for lunch for the same reason, good atmosphere, odd food selection. See There are others like me. I LOVE THE DISBOARDS!
