I enrolled my DD (4) into the YMCA for summer gymnastics and swimming lessons. She has attended 2 classes of gymnastics and now she has athlete's foot on her feet and a little spot on the side of her hand (I guess from itching her feet). URGH!!! I am going to ask them to waiver having to pay an additional month because of this and take her out and find somewhere better. They won't let parents in the pool area so she won't be taking swimming lessons (found that out last week). I'm putting Tinactin on her feet
so hopefully she will be better soon.

I don't think I'll ever hear the YMCA song again and not think about athlete's foot!! :furious:

Um... I hate to tell you that pretty much everyone and everywhere there is a gym like the YMCA people will get athletes foot. It is a fact of life public looker rooms/swimming pools= athletes foot and sometimes your OWN HOUSE!!. They probably will not let parents in the pool area because they do not want the swimmer to be distracted. I would not ask for a waiver because of this...I think that is crazy. I am sorry but that is just my opinion and I think others would agree.

I am sorry if I sounded rude. Tell her not to itch it will make it worse! lol. Also make sure she wears clean white socks each day. I was a swimmer for years and had to deal will athletes foot most of the time. It is probably worse for her since she is younger.
