sales are going over at SSR. I remember when BCV opened we were all rushing to post our messages about how we added on there.

I haven't seen too much of this - or many new lurkers that have actually posted about purchasing at SSR.

I still have hopes for AKL lodge villas - so I was hoping that this would start selling quickly!!!! (I know realistically it's a least 5 years, but I like the smaller resorts with the "prime" locations.)

Any word on sales yet? Any add-ons among members here yet?

I dont know about SSR sales, but I can reccommend that you dont hold your breath waiting for the AKL villas. My sales rep told me about the next dvc resort in the works and its wasnt AKL villas, so if they do that, its got to be pretty far off.

We just got our paperwork in the mail yesterday for SS and we are filling it out today. Our sales rep said they had a record breaker for new members joining the first day SS opened.

He did make a casual comment about the next DVC when I was asking about our SS year end was 12 years after the other DVC's. He mentioned Bonnie Creek as the next DVC, but I thought was was just going to be a hotel. Maybe they will add some villas later......

I also recommend against holding your breath for AKL villas....I don't think they will be expanding there at all due to the animals' habitat being disturbed.

SSR is supposedly going to be the largest DVC resort yet, roomwise, so I think it will take quite a while to sell it out to its full capacity. VWL and BCV were quite small in comparison, and they took a couple of years each to sell out.

And Eagle Pines is the resort that was announced but then tabled a couple of years ago. It was going to be in the Bonnet Creek area and be a deluxe resort centered at the golf course. They even had artist's renderings of the resort, but then put it on indefinite hold and haven't mentioned it in quite a while. But that could be the next one if SSR sells out.

SSR is a good test for Eagle Pines, since it would be the first DVC resort built that is not part of an existing resort since OKW. As Doc says...stay tuned! :)

Yep, I have to agree. With Eagle Pines still on the the drawing board, I think it will be a LONG time before we see an AKL DVC, if ever.

stacy6552... Did your guide tell you something different than the Eagle Pines resort?

We were at the DVC sales center last Thursday and it was a ZOO there. We met with our guide and toured the model for SSR. It is the same layout at BCVs only the decor is different. Our guide did mention that a few people were coming in for information but were turned off by the location of SSR.

Funny thing DID happen when we were there. We mentioned that we were going to consider an add on at SSR, but now were considering an add on at BCVs and we knew our use year was sold out. He left the room and came back and told us there were about 400 points left in our use year and his boss told him that even though they were alocated for waitlisted add ons, he could sell them to us. Makes me wonder about that waitlist now.

I made my deposit yesterday over the phone for SSR and my guide told me he has been VERY busy with SSR sales. I believe it since I have called him numerous times with questions and it took a while for a call back (one time calling at 6:30pm).

I don't know why anyone thinks there will ever be an AKL DVC. AKL was built a couple of years ago and DVC was already a proven seller. If they were going to add a DVC to AKL I think they would have included it initially. To build one now (or later) would disturb the animals.I don't think we will ever see DVC at AKL.
