I Won The Year Of A Million Dreams

OUTSTANDING! Congrats and Welcome Home!

As far as APs are concerned, as has been said the are good from the day you activate it (you can purchase ahead and not activate until you are ready to go in the park that day) until that day the next year so actually 366 days.

Regarding cot or sleep chair, not yet at DVC. New villas at AKV are getting pull out sleep chairs in 1 BRs/ 2 Brs in order to sleep 5 but AKV is the only resort that will have that as of now. They do not provide a cot or any extra bedding, but as many people (you can see items about it all over the boards) people bring an inflatable bed/air mattress - one brand being aero bed.

You may also wish to look into OwnersLocker.com

Enjoy!

I'm guessing that's because OP said it included all of the dues --which I'd rather not think about paying that much in dues over the next 40+ years :upsidedow

and to think, I still haven't even seen a Dream Team member on several trips totaling around 18 days :sad2:

Yeah, that's what I was talking about, all the dues. Figure a 220 pt contract costs roughly $20680.

Of course, over the life of the contract he'll be giving Disney back much of the $88,000 in park entrances, food, drink, souvineers, and etc over the next 46 years. It will be interesting to see who comes out ahead in the end. LOL

Don't listen to me, I'm just jealousy

Incredible! Congratulations. Welcome the DVC boards and

:welcome: Home!

I pay zero for this wonderful prize....the breakdown is this:

23,000 for membership plus 220 points
36,000 for the fees for the next 47 years
27,000 to cover all taxes
then there are additional monies, that can be used for transferring points to other destinations and the like.

Disney told me NOTHING comes out of my pocket...they have covered everything..

AND, you are so right, we will spend more than the $88,000 over the next 20 years :-)

It's a prize. As such you will have to report it on your taxes. Disney will have to send you a Form 1099-MISC with the total value of the prize reported as Other Income. IRS regulations require them to send it on prizes or awards with a value of $600 or more.

OP has indicated that Disney is including monies in the prize to cover the taxes due to the IRS.

I filled out that tax form, and Disney is sending me paperwork. But, they also give me $26,000 to cover taxes, so I should be all set.

Wow and congratulations you lucky dog!!:cheer2:

I can't even win a pin or something small. Maybe some of your luck will rub off on me. :goodvibes

Very, very cool. Sounds like they picked a perfect winner, someone who can truly appreciate the awesomeness of the prize.

I was going go back and edit my post to include that as a possible inclusion in the total prize.

Congratuations.

WoW! Here I thought roll up the rim (see Canadian board if clueless) to win was the biggest prize news on the boards right now:lmao: How wonderful and blessed to win such an outstanding prize.

Wow, congratulations. That's unreal, I won an album once I think it was Peter Frampton's "Frampton Comes Alive", back in the late 70's. Yours is better.

I`m trying to word this so I don`t sound too envious - but well done - you absolutely deserve that prize.
Let us all know about your first vacation.
