I can't believe things like this do happen...I signed up for the Macy's Celebrates Mom Sweepstake back in April and I am one of the grand prize winners. You should have seen me when they called me on Friday

I got a 5 night/6 day trip for 4 to BOTH Disneyland and DisneyWorld!!I got my airfare, ground transporation from airports to Disney, Disney Resort accomodations, VIP Experiences, $200 gift card to Disneyland and a $300 gift card to DisneyWorld.

This is definately legit, I've received all my paperwork and now just waiting for a Disney Rep to call me to scheduled my flights etc.

I had resented to the fact that there wouldn't be any more Disney trips with my family due to money. My DD asks every year if we could go Now I have a trip to DisneyWorld and also to be able to experience Disneyland too - oh my goodness!!

It will be a whirlwind of a week but I'm ready for it! We go in June

Also, does the prize come with park tickets? I didn't see them mentioned anywhere. I would think though that a trip to Disneyland/Disneyworld would include them.

I would also 'pretend' to book this trip using the most inexpensive way you know, and keep the records for your income taxes. I know someone who won a similar trip on the radio, and they way over inflated it's value. At income tax time she claimed the amount she could have booked it for, and it was accepted. She paid a lot less taxes.

That said, I'll take any trip, and just pay the taxes, if anyone wants to win one and give it to me.

Not to put a damper on the festive mood, but, you just might want to ask who is paying the taxes on your prize. If not the sponsor of the contest, you will have to claim this as income on your taxes next year and pay the taxes.

LOL - I also won a WDW trip back in 2000 - it was awesome. The Disney Rep did take our hotel requests into consideration - we happened to have a trip planned at the YC, so they let us stay there. Our included passes and room and airfare - no money or food passes.

Do all 50 winners have to travel at the same time? If so, you may have to stay whereever they put you - if not, don't be shy, tell them you've always dreamed of staying at XYZ resort...

Congratulations - it's an amazing feeling, isn't it? It makes you realize that people really do win these things.

I'm thinking we all travel at the same time but I could be wrong. And yes, I won't be shy letting the Disney rep know where I'd like to stay Only going to DW once I really don't know a heck of a lot. We stayed at the Polynesian, it was sooooo nice.

Another thing that is really neat...I won this prize from Macy's and when I had to give them the names of the 3 guests I want to bring (of course it is my DH and my 2 DD's) well, my youngest DD's name is MACIE. The lady got so excited and said "could that be any more perfect"

From the rules I received it looks like all winners where chosen on May 12th. Travel for all the winners are the same dates.

I was called last Thursday, May 14th.

I know everyone here is heavy on the praise for WDW, but when you're in Disneyland, remember that Walt had a say in all the original plans and oversaw it all. It's truly "Walt's Park". Enjoy the history there. (Obviously, I'm partial to Disneyland, since I've been there many times - it's easier for me to get to!)

I'm so happy for you! You know, now you'll have to do a trip report!
