I won a trip for 4 (3/12 w/ Updated Hotel Info)

It was the Dream it and Win it sweepstakes from Disneyshopping.com during the YOAMD. The actual drawing took place on 10/01/08.

While I really hate to mention this (seriously), please make sure you know the going rate for a stay at the GF at the same time you're going, as well as the cost of airfare.

Disney will be sending you a 1099 form for the rack/published rate of everything you won. You can use the documentation you gather to report the 'going rate' of the prize on your tax return, versus the amount they send on the 1099. If you haven't already, please contact your tax preparer for more specific instructions.

Thanks! I actually knew about this because I asked my tax guy about it when I got my taxes done. The reason I knew to ask him is that I had won on a slot machine and a video poker machine before, so I knew there'd be some kind of notifying of the IRS in there somewhere LOL

Going rate for the hotel will be easy because we are adding two nights to what we won

Thanks everyone!! I was kinda surprised with the GF myself, only because the few people I've read about winning trips all seem to get put at the Beach Club or the Boardwalk Villas. Not that I am complaning.....

We're taking the trip from July 7th - 14th. I was able to pick the dates. There were a few blackout dates (not many) and you had a year to use it. I am not sure if I'm going to to a trip report, cause I'm not really sure how LOL I may give it a shot

WDW did ask what 'class' of hotel we wanted to stay in and I said we'd like a deluxe, but ultimately they picked the resort. It's all 'subject to availability' of the time you are going.

As far as the Trip Report goes....you have to do it. JK I do think you should. All of us dissers would like to know how it goes when you win a trip. Besides, it is the best way to pull all of your best photos and memories together. Write your story in Word, cut - paste and save it as you go. When you are finished you will have your TR all together. It will be a great keepsake for your family. You know 3 or 4 years from now you will not remember all the details and all the fun that happened.

BTW...it will not be too long before you can start with your pre-trip report.

LOL I was just thinking about that last night. I have the ADR's I want to make written down, just waiting for the day to call and wishing they have the park hours posted before I have to do that.
