Hi I really wanted to go in the Cast Member Chat. Because I been wanting to talk to already Cast Members of Disney World.

I wish to work at the Disney World. Mostly at the Magic Kingdom. But any theme park would be good at this time.

I could probably run the rides..For sure I can just ask the people "how many?" and then say "Row number 3" *smiles*....

I wouldn't want to be a character though.

I think I know what to do to apply at Disney World.

The problem with me, is that I live in Delaware,USA....

& I've been wondering if there a way I can find a place to live there and push do they provide Transportation to their Cast Members ( like have a bus of there own?)

First, Sailorcomet.. Welcome to the Dis.. I am going to move this over to the Community Board where I feel you will get more answers from others who have the same aspirations and have been successfully employed by Disney.. Have a great day... :)

Thank you Mackey.

BTW,please erase the "push" word in my first post. I don't know why I typed that. sorry.

I have a son who is a cast member....he works in the Magic Kingdom....

When he was in college, he applied and was accepted into the Walt Disney World College Internship Program...this was in January of 1999

While he attended this program, he lived on WDW property at Vista Way and he was shuttled to work and school and back....

After completeing the program, he would go to WDW to work on his short collegiate breaks and he had to livve "off-campus" and was responsible for his own transportation...

After graduation from College, he hired an apartment hunter to find his lodgings...AFTER spending hours online searching....

We moved him down April 2003...he started working full time on April 10th...

so far he has had 2 promotions...one included a hefty pay increase ...the other pay increase was about a third of the first....

we keep in close contact...and from what he says....there are plenty of opportunities to advance by keeping track of the posted "Casting Calls"....the job openings...

Also, if he want additional hours outside of his regular job....he signs up for them....he has been working 60 hours plus a week..

He is in training for a clerk job right now...but some of his additional hours were working "Grad Nights"....

So....long story short....he is living his dream...the same dream you have....go for it...Good Luck!

I don't have any answers, but want to say "WELCOME" to the DIS :)

His aprtment is just off I-4 @ exit 75B....it takes him less than 15 minutes to get to WDW....

His wife works part time in the Sports Complex.....she applied...did the Cast Member training.....and also signs up for additional hours....when she wants to, depending on her schedule.......

Welcome to the DIS sailorcomet, I'm really glad you found us.

I can't offer any advice about becoming a cast member but I wanted to welcome you and tell you that I hope you can visit us often :)

Welcome to the DIS! I second the college program -- if you're in college! It really was the best summer of my life. But that's the only way I know that Disney provides transportation and housing. Otherwise you're on your own.

Good luck! I've been hoping my DH gets assigned to MacDill outside of Tampa so I can commute. Not likely, but a girl can dream, can't she? ;)
