This is not really a full trip report, just something unique that happened on our trip Dec 2-9. We had a split reservation for a 2 bdr on Dec 2-5 then 6-9 at VGC. No idea why we couldn't get Monday night.

We drove down from NorCal, we arrived ~8PM it was busy, we had been stuck in LA traffice for 2 hrs and we were hungry. First time at VGC (been to many DVC properties in WDW), so we were excited to see what the rooms were like. We finally got our room after ~20 minutes of waiting, first floor, oh well, no view, but at least we don't have to wait for the elevator. We go in and stand there for a second taking it all in, a coffee cup on the counter, a take out container on the table, and towels all over the bathroom... Hmm, doesn't seem quite as nice as we had imagined.

So back to the check in desk we go. My mom is pretty irate (I think the LA traffic got to her). They send someone to check the room, yup it hasn't been cleaned at all (you thought we were complaining about some dust?).

Well they give us a new room on the fifth floor overlooking DCA, we walk in and WoC starts about 10 minutes later. Wow! My mom walks in with 5 free dinner vouchers, no Napa Rose, but amongst all the usual suspects (PCH Grill, Storytellers, Ariel's Grotto, etc) was Steakhouse 55. Well that is an easy choice.

We go to Steakhouse 55 on Sunday, the voucher says one NA drink, one entree and a dessert. Our waiter (who was outstanding BTW, forget his name) explains that in all the years that he has been working there they have NEVER actually followed the wording on the card. Feel free to order anything you like, but no alcohol, that is the only thing they are insistent on. Well, we walked out of there with full tummys and a $400+ (closer to $500 with tip prob) bill that we didn't have to pay.

Disney, you can give me a dirty room anytime you like.

The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful.

For a cup. a container, and a few bath room towels I'll take the view room and dinner voucher anytime. Disney is so cool that way--- it would only have been better to get concierge for rest of trip.

Kudos to Disney :)

Watching for trip report :)
