Instead of rewarding me with a drink coupon book, they offer me a coupon for free EBCI. I usually fly out in the morning and don't want a drink then, as for the return flight I have to drive when I land so forget that. I have about six of these books that I always think I'm going to use but don't, but EBCI would be used. Would this appeal to anyone else?

I'd be willing to buy your coupons book from you. Say $10 each to pay for your EBCI.
Did you consider writing an email to SW about this idea? Sounds like a great idea for those that don't drink...

I think that it is a great idea! I would trade about four drink coupon books. I'm like the OP - fly out early in the am and have to drive home after the return flight. Once in a while my daughter will use one for the energy drinks but other than that, they just sit in my travel bag!

One of these days I hope to have enough coupons to 'buy' the whole proper aged, wanting to partake people on a flight a drink :lmao:

If you are interested let me know. I live near Doylestown so it wouldn't take but a day for it to get to you by mail. I have a girlfriend who lives in Whitehall, is that near you?

Ok I emailed my suggestion to SWA. I'll post their response when I get it. :surfweb:

Me too, I always have to drive at the end of a flight so don't use any of the drink coupons they send me.

That is a great idea! I often travel alone with a child and, being a somewhat responsible adult, refrain from drinking on the plane. Even when I think I might have a drink, I forget my drink coupons. And my 9-year-old has a Rapid Rewards membership too and he has gotten a few free tickets himself, but he can't receive drink coupons, but he could sure use a free EBCI!

I think this is a really great idea, I am going to e-mail Southwest too. I usually end up giving my tickets to someone around me, but would love having a credit for the EBCI

Sorry guys! but I bet they won't do it because that would actually cost Southwest a lot more money. They are working on the premise that by sending you the drink coupons they are being magnanimous and flier friendly but they also know that the vast majority of them will never be used thus not really costing them much money for such a great thing they are doing for their frequent fliers. It is like rebates instead of just giving you money off at purchase.(which would be immediate out of pocket for the company) they get the incentive for people to buy and also know that a great deal of people will never get around to sending it in OR if they do then some won't get around to cashing the checks.

If they give you ECB they know you will use them and they will lose that 10 dollars.

It is all Business!
