We are driveway camping at my MIL's house, instead. Rick was going to run in a 50amp plug so we didn't have to rely on the generator, but mom's electrical panel won't handle it. So, I laid awake all last night listening to the drone of the generator. I'm sure mom's neighbors are loving it, too. Ugh!! The things we do for those we love.

I Wish I were at the Fort this Weekend, also. Heck, driveway camping at the ML even sounds good. ;)

Well, I hope your MIL appreciates the visit.

Maybe you could head over to Anna Maria for dinner and take walk on the beach? I know, not the same as meeting with Fiends at the Fort :smickey:..but such beautiful sunsets. :sunny:
By the way, I ate at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar on Cortez Road during our last visit..and boy was it delicious. :fish:

I wish we were at the Fort to. Yesterday had to go buy a dishwasher and install it. Then cut the grass. Now I should be out side trimming the tree. Not to mention my cart is making a odd noise.

Me, too! We just did a family drive to check out a state park we've never seen. About 3 hours there, 2-1/2 back (took a smarter route home), and I was bellyaching about being stiff and sick of driving (hubby doesn't drive b/c of medical issues). As we approached our house, hubby said, "So how come you're tired and hurting now, but if you were going to Disney, which is even farther, you'd be fine?"

I kinda looked at him like, "Um...not getting the question." I mean, duh. Of course I'm not going to be tired driving to the Fort, even towing the trailer. :confused3 Um, hello.

Sounds like my not-so-fun weekend. It is earning its name..."Labor Day". Trimmed the trees yesterday, mowed the lawn and did laundry today... At least it's only 91 degrees instead of the 100's it has been. I need a Disney break!!!

I had/have to work.
but thats a good thing,,
it'll get us to the Fort someday,:thumbsup2

One giant oak tree trimmed many others to go. I bet Donnie is looping:sad2:

I sympathezie with everyone here! Yesterday, we had football practice for DS#3, baseball game for DS#2, came home and weeded the gardens and then cooked for DS#1 birthday celerbration. DD stayed at college for the weekend to get ahead on her studies. Today, we went to church, came home and made a big breakfast, DS#1 then headed back to Baton Rouge for work. After he left I clean out the stair closet (it was the dumping ground). Went to dinner. Tomorrow, I plan to clean out our office after golfing and do the laundry. DS #3 has football practice for 7 pm. Then on Tuesday its back to work. What a weekend! I need my FW vacation.:).

That is a good restaurant, isn't it? We took mom down to Sarasota to a Mexican restaurant that's been there for about 45 years. Unfortunately, the original owners passed away a few years back and it wasn't as good. However, the margarita's were still the best. Then we drove out to Siesta Key & down to Turtle Beach. Mom and her late husband used to camp for the summer in a campground on the beach & she wanted to go see it. It was still the same. The beach, however, had been re-claimed by dredging and all the beautiful white sand is now crushed shell. Not near as pretty.

OMG...yes, it was good. They had the most delicious seafood pasta. Linguine, Shrimp, scallops. YUM..:tongue:is all I can say. I wish I could go there right now. :teleport: Damn  the teleporter isn't working again.

I've got to get over to Siesta Key during our next visit.:beach:
I think Margaritas make everything look better.

I wish we were at the fort too! We did go camping at Tropical Palms right down the road from the fort. It was nice. BUT... when we got home our a/c was broken. Good thing it's raining right now. Cooled the house down from 94 to 88. UGGHH!!! Waiting for an a/c person to show up while praying it is not going to cost too much!

Donnie had to bum golf carts to go stal...... er looping.

We missed you Deb!!!! (And you missed a great party!!)

Thanks for letting us use the cart Carol. Hopefully you didn't change your mind and want to see the fireworks. Thanks also for a great party. The food was delicious. Tell Rick thanks as well.
