I wish I was a cast member on VMK

I have met a cast member on Vmk and everyone was asking all of these questions and acting really nice. I wish i was one of them because on the site I really have no good friends that tell me things that help you and just be plain nice!

Also you would probably get TONS of stuff that is really really really rare!

I would really hate to be a cast member or any disney employee on VMK. Because chances are you'd be barraged with questions and friends requests from people who only want to be your friend because you're "in" with Disney. I have a friend who is a cast member at WDW and when I mentioned it casually in a conversation, some of my VMK friends (albeit jokingly) said immediately: "Cool, you should ask her to get you loads of cards with VMK codes!" While I know they weren't being serious, I know there are a lot of people who would be --- and it's just interesting that that's the first thing a lot of people think about. I'd hate to have a bunch of friends who wanted me just for free stuff.

Sometimes I'm just chatting with my friends in my new safari room and random strangers come in, which is fine with me. I like to talk to people. But then some of them immediately want to connect their room to mine or add me as a friend simply because I have the room. I've even had people ask me: "Can I be on your team next time?" They don't know a thing about me! Just that my team happened to win and I got a cool room. I love to make new friends and I've met many wonderful people on VMK and Dis, but the ones who are clearly being nice and friendly to you because you have something they feel they'd benefit from (whether it's an item or an association with Disney) are really people you should stay from. Usually they turn out to be nothing but users who will ditch you when you're no longer useful to them.

That being said, I know there are a lot of really superficial friendships on VMK and I can understand that it's hard to find good friends. Be patient. The people who stick around to play games with you or help you out even if you aren't giving them a present every day are probably potential good friends. And as for having your questions answered, well there's lots of friendly people on Dis eager to help you out. I hope you can find some great and real friends here and on VMK!

That would be really cool. My friends and family say that would be the perfect job for me since I spend so much time on it anyways. silvrstrfx does have a good point though. I don't think I would want to have my "friends" constantly asking for free things, but I wouldn't mind the questions since I like to help people. That's probably the only bad part about being staff, or at least I think so.

silvrstrfx, I agree with you completly. And I know if I were staff, my neighbors would be demanding me things, yes, demanding. My one neighbor already demanded me to get a coustume for him on her, because I was helping out sister, and asking for help for on here. lol

I think that'd be a cool job. Why?

• I wouldn't have people demanding rare items from me
• I would be able to help pass decisions that are not like punching every player in the face.
• I'd get green stuff.

Hate to break it to you but everyone think that vmk staff gets so much. They really don't get that much stuff. If they have any beta what so ever it is because they purchased it back in beta. IF the have inferno it was probably gifted. They may get green flips, green bag pants and green ears but they also have to sit there and answer the same question millions of times. I sat in the room of a staff member and I heard the exact same question asked at least 20 times. I just think it could be some what stressful. It would be a cool job and would be nice to get paid to play vmk but I don't know if I would like to do it.

You know those days when nothing good is happening on VMK? You just log off and come back tomorrow. If VMK was your job, you couldn't log off for another 8 hours!

If you were a HOST_, you'd have to run frustrating games for complainers, line-cutters, scammers, innocent little kids who do all of the above accidentally and normal players alike!

If you were a VMK_, you'd be constantly called to investigate reports, then have to read through dictionary-dancing transcripts to figure out if somebody did or didn't call another player a "but".

You'd have players constantly asking if you are "taken". You are over 18, likely much older, but the little kids will keep asking anyway.

Assuming you're in California, you'd probably either start work at 7am or not be done until 10pm. Other time zones are not any better.

Then, no matter what your time zone, you would have to attend meetings outside of your VMK hours, where your boss would say "XYZ event has been delayed while we're fixing a glitch so you'll have to spend half of tomorrow explaining why."

And you know what? After all of that, I probably haven't even touched on the REAL worst problem the staff is having!

What's the fun of being a cast member of VMK if you get all the stuff? Then there is no fun of getting the stuff or playing the quests. For a day perhaps, but not a full time job.
