I have been doing a lot of research and practicing with my lenses. I have concluded that the following would be a good set of lenses to take to Disney:

Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 or Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
Canon 28mm 1.8
Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6

Unfortunately, I only own the two Canon lenses. I do have the Canon kit lens, 18-55 f/3.5-5.6, which I will definitely take unless the 1k drops onto my lap.

What would be your ideal kit? Do you own the lenses you want?

Working on my ideal kit. Particularly for my upcoming Alaska cruise.

Nikon d750
SB 710
14-24/2.8
24-120/4
sigma 50/1.4 art
Nikon 85/1.4
105/2.8 macro
70-200/4
300/4
1.4 and 2x teleconverters

Total about $10,000

I'd like to get the Tamron 150-600 since the Nikon 80-400 is more than double the $$. Maybe a 2.8 to replace my 18-135 too:)
I have a D7000, Nikon 18-135, Nikon 70-300VR, Nikon 85mm1.8, Nikon 35mm 1.8, Nikon 60mm 2.8 micro, Tamron 10-24mm

How do you like your Tamron 28-75?

I don't have it, yet. That is the list I would like to have. I only have the two Canon lenses so far.

I have: Sigma 17-70, Tokina 11-16, Nikon 35, 18-105, 55-200 and D5100 body

My wishlist: Tamron 70-200, Nikon 50 and D5300 (not ready to give up the versatility of the swivel screen)

My usual setup is as follows (no matter where I go)

Canon 10-22
Tamron 17-55 2.8
Canon 50 1.8
Tamron 70-300

And for Disney extra:
Sigma 30 1.4 (new due to suggestions from this forum - have yet to try :) )

I am thinking about adding a 70-200 2.8 to the mix in addition to the 70-300 when I don't need the extra reach but need a fast shutter and/or a large aperture.

that would work
I would like an updated 100-400 or maybe a 70-200 2.8 (not necessarily for Disney)

Ooops, just reread your post! I read it wrong. I've been tempted to get the 28-75 for a while just never bit the bullet, first I got the micro(used) then the Tamron 10-24, then the 85 1.8 because it was on sale and I'd always wanted one.......then I go back and forth as to whether 28 is wide enough.....but if I go with a 17-50 I know I won't be happy only going to 50 for a walk around lens and I do have the 10-24 to get me close to 28mm anyway.

What I REALLY want is the Canon 17-55 f/2.8, but that one is $$.

I just got the Tamron 150-600 and I love it! It's pretty heavy though so a tripod is a must.

What camera are you using with it? Result been good so far? I've been looking at pictures taekn with it and they look great, worried I won't get near as good results.

I've been using with a Canon 60D. It's a little soft at 600, but for my use (birds and wildlife) it's perfect.
