I sent my opinions to the mods and asked if I could post this and got no response, but in light of the huge internet porn bust, I feel like I should let all you parents know about something that happned at a school near me. And, apparently it has become quite the trend among young girls.

There are several webites where you can see young women "interact" with a lollipop in a very seductive way. The girls usually ( well sometimes ) are in various stages of being dressed. They videotape themselves and then upload the video to various websites.

The reason I found out is that I have a teacher who lives near me. She told me that at the school she teaches, SIX girls were found to have uploaded these videos. And upon questioning, the school found out that the girls all did it willingly. It is apparently a "hot new thing" to do. And many of the sites are available for ANYBODY to see, without even requiring people to log in.

I hope the mods keep this up. I felt like parents need to know.

Thanks for the warning. My kids are young, but I'm just not at a point of acceptance where I can think they will ever have unsupervised access to the internet. It just seems to get worse and worse.

You know those girls are going to get older and what goes on the net stays on the net. They are going to one day want to run for office, or do something that needs a background check etc and they are going to be sorry. Stupidy when young is normal. Just don't record it for posterity. ("Wow man, your grandma was hot").

I let my kids have access to the internet. Almost everything is blocked! LOL!

There is also the issue with the many "I shot (shot meaning took pictures) of myself" sites out there. Hard to define child porn when many teen girls are taking "sexy" pictures of themselves and posting them on blogs or picture sites.

Oprah had a young man on a few weeks ago who became a victim of child pornography at a young age. It started in the privacy of his room with a web cam. It escalated from there. The bottom line was, no child should have a web cam, no matter how innocent it sounds. Its easy to get coerced into things that are dangerous and harmful for the promise of a few gifts.

What's wrong with them? Easy to see. They see Paris Hilton catapult to fame only *after* her "home video" leaks. If all their favorite icons are doing this, why not them?

Too many kids are out of control nowadays. Of course, we did things too but I would have died before I would have done some of the stuff I hear about.

This is one reason my child will never have a pc in their room on in any other place besides a family area. Even good kids do stupid things ever now and then and the internet is too easy a place to do stupid things.

I drive by my old high school every day on the way to work. I noticed a few days ago a big sign that said "Internet Safety Discussion - Thursday night, etc etc".

Cyberspace is a scarey place. Sometimes I am shocked at the things that come up when I search on a seemingly innocent word.

Not that this cannot happen with boys too but not as much as girls. This is one area where I am glad I have boys.

It's not just kids nowadays! I had a friend who wanted me to take pictures of her in compromising positions with a red popsicle. This was 25 years ago.

I didn't have the nerve to take pics of myself, but we thought we were being so cool.

That is just so sad...one more reason that my 12 year old dd does not have access to the internet without being supervised!
