another Emachine. We have had computers since 1994 and I have never had such problems. It would shut down all the time on and off the internet. We kept taking it in and were told it was because of the spyware and such. We were told to put in firewalls that we already had in place. Funny but that never happened when we had the old HP hooked up when the E machine was in the shop. Yesterday we got a call from Circuit City that our computer had been damaged in transit and to come choose a new one. So today I have my brand new HP and have been happily playing with no problems

Never heard of emachine, but, at least now, you can dis w/o interruptions!!!

I've had my emachine for about 5 years now and haven't ever had any problems with it. My mom has had hers for about 2 years with no problems. Sorry you had trouble with yours.

I have several close friends and relatives who all have e-machines. None have had any trouble with their computers. Sounds like you just got a lemon. Sorry to hear it but glad you are back up and running with your new HP.

We've had an Emachine for 5-6 years now, and never had a problem.

Emachine got bought out by Gateway, I think a couple of years ago; maybe that's when thier quality dropped; I have heard the same complaints about a lot of Gateways.
