....and I actually had fun.
This is the first time I have gone clothes shopping since I started losing weight. When I started this journey I was a tight size 24 (really a size 26 in denial). I went to get a pair of jeans to wear since my old 24's were falling off of me this weekend - they were so loose I could just pull them down without much effort.
I figured the 22's would fit but I optimistically also took along a pair of 20's. Well the 22's were very comfortable so I thought I would see about the 20's. Well they are tight but I got them on - they zipped up and everything!!!
I was quite excited. I still need to lose at least 5 more pounds before I will wear them out but I bought the 20's. I will try them on each week and I hope they will fit well by Halloween.
After I tried on the jeans I thought that I could probably also use a basic pair of black slacks for work that would fit a little better. I also took the 22's and 20's in with me. The 22's were way too big and the 20's were quite comfy and even had a little room. I went back to get the 18's and while I could get them on they were a little too tight and since I wear these to work I went ahead and bought the 20's.
Yeah!
When I went back out my eyes caught this really great outfit. It is a pair of brown slacks that look (and feel) like suede, with a cream colored sweater and this great matching suede-like brown jacket. It is gorgeous! I could never have imagined owning anything like it in the past but I was just too curious even though the price tag was cha-ching for me ($140
). I took a size 20 in and it was actually kind of loose so I went and got the 18 and it fit!!! WOO-HOO!! I actually thought it looked pretty good. I could stand to loose another 5 pounds to be a little more comfortable wearing the pants but a size 18 FIT!!!! I can't remember the last time I wore a size 18 outfit. Granted this is still a really BIG size but to actually think about wearing a size 18-20 after being a 24 (well 26
) is just amazing.
I was so excited that I bought a pair of new comfy pajamas as well in a size 16/18!!!
Then I came home and modeled it all for DH. I was feeling a little guilty about all of the money spent but he was great about it and he really liked my clothes. My little brown outfit he said made me looks "stylish".
Imagine..me stylish!
He said that I looked like I stepped out of a catalog.
He is so sweet.
