Cast of Characters: Me, DGD8 Skye, Lynn friend/coworker & first timer.

I had left this day pretty much open except for a couple PS's so that we would have the freedom to see/do stuff we'd missed. I let Skye & Lynn decided where we'd start off our day, either AK or MGM as we'd only spent 1/2 days at each. I figured Skye would go for MGM as she loves the big rides there, but when we were talking about just seeing the shows that we'd missed, she opted for AK. Lynn wanted AK too, as she loves the theming of that park. We took our time getting to the bus stop as we'd learned that the AK bus doesn't get there none too early and due to the fact that I still wasn't walking to well. We still had a 25 minute wait but when we got to the park the lines to get in weren't bad at all. We took a line on the far left as the ECV rental place is on the left as you enter. The whole renting an ECV here seemed disorganized, but I got one. We grabbed a Fast Pass for the safari because we all wanted to do it again. We got another cinnimon roll from Tusker House and sat out back again to eat. The girls were finally convinced that the kitchen noises were fake as it was the same noises.

When we arrive at the safari with our Fast Pass, we were ushered into a holding pen with other folks in ECV's. I felt pretty bad as my condition was only temporary, but most of these people spend thier lives in an ECV. The safari truck we had seemed to be sent special just for us disabled folks, maybe because there was so many at one time. Maybe we got grouped with a special tour for special needs people, I don't know. We ended up in the back row and let me tell you, if you've never ridden in the back of one of those trucks, be warned it is lots bumpier back there. That truck needed shocks bad. I thought I was certainly going to end up with two black eyes before the tour was over. ;)

After safari, we headed to Dinosaurland with the intention of seeing the Tarzan show as we'd never seen that before. The show wasn't due to start yet so we let Skye go dig some bones while we hit a couple shops. This was the first time I'd let her enter the Boneyard alone, but I didn't see trying to keep up with her in there with the ECV and I didn't want Lynn to have to go in there either. I figured there's only one way in/out and she'd been in there a number of times before so she couldn't get lost. I told her what time to meet us at the bench outside and she went in and came out right on time. I got us some drinks at one of the stands and a really nice CM asked me how I was doing and if I found the park accessible with my ECV. I told her it was more difficult here than Epcot and that "I was walking as good as you when I started this vacation." I said it laughing, of course. We grabbed a Fast Pass to Primevil Whirl that should've left us with plenty of time to get out & see Tarzan, we asked. Skye wanted to do one of the games, & I warned her that she could loose her money & not get anything, but she still wanted to try. She lost her money. We got in line for PW and somehow by the time we got out of there it was too late to see Tarzan. So, there is still some things we've yet to try at AK that we'll save for another trip.

AK was beginning to get hot & crowded as it usually does & we had a lunch PS at Cinderella's Royal Table so we made our way out of the park. A huge guy, not paying any attention because he had his head buried in a map, made a sudden left then stopped dead in front of me so I hit him with the ECV, even though I was tooting my little horn and Skye was walking beside me saying "Excuse us, excuse us." the whole time. He called me a name even though I appologised. That didn't really bother me, but it did Skye. That kind of did for me on the ECV. It wasn't too bad riding one in Epcot where the paths were wide and it wasn't too crowded up, but AK was hard and I figured MK was going to be too so I decided to just try to walk it.

We took the bus to TTC then monorail to MK and arrived just in time at the castle. The stocking thing I'd gotten from Epcot first aid was loosing it's elasticity and wanted to roll down my legs when I walked so if you were there and saw some woman who seemed to keep tugging on invisible stockings, that would be me. Lunch at the castle was fun. There was a Cinderella's Surprise Celebration show going on at the same time so Cindy kept popping in and out of the dinning room and we saw Peter Pan climbing around on the castle outside the window. Lunch was yummy too! After lunch we decided to get our MK shopping done that we attempted to do the other night when the shops closed so early. I bought an ornament at the Christmas Shop and Lynn found her mother a tshirt on Main Street. There were some other purchase too, but I can't remember what they were. I know we attempted to by candy at the candy store but the line were way too long. I guess other folks were trying to get in thier shopping before MK shops decided to close at 3pm!

After shopping we took the bus back to BWI and decided to start packing away some things. Actually, we ended up getting most everything except what we'd be needing for that night and the next morning packed. We all got showers and dressed for our dinner at California Grill PS at 7:15....a first for us, uh, the CG was a first, not showers. Not wanting to deal with the buses, we took a taxi and arrived about 20 minutes early. A lady in front of me at the podium got nasty with the CM because she was told she couldn't have a window table because she had too many people in her party. I wanted to ask for a window table too, but now I hated to. I put on my sweetest smile and said, "I hate to ask because I know what you just went through and that everyone wants a window table, but if you have one for us we would appreciate it." Well, wouldn't you know it but that sweet little girl was from Kentucky and we had a short but nice conversation with her. We had just enough time to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before our pager went off. That sweet KY girl had fixed us up with a fantastic window table with a perfect view of the castle! Our waitress was Jenny and we had an awsome meal. I definately want to return here again. We finished around 9:30 and decided to let someone else have the table while we walked out onto the observation deck and enjoyed the fireworks from there. It was a perfect ending to our vacation. I cried, again.

We took a taxi back to Boardwalk, stopped at the bakery for the mornings breakfast, packed up some more stuff and called it a night. Yourride was picking us up at 7:30 am the next morning.

All in all, even with the moleskin accident, bad BW buses, & some rude people, I'll have to say it was an excellent vacation. We loved Boardwalk and even though the bus transportation is the worst I've ever encountered, I'd gladly stay there again.

Lynn and I are still shaking our heads in disbelief about MK shops closing so early during such a busy time. It reminds me of a boss I used to have when I was a comptroller for a construction company. This man would spend thousands of dollars trying to save a hundred. He had a great business and made lots of money, but he was greedy. And he cut, cut, cut until finally he'd ruined his name in our area and had to go out of business. I'm not worried about Disney going out of business, I just hate to see them making stupid mistakes. Oh well, I guess they know more than me!LOL

Thanks for reading!

It's burried back there somewhere! I know when I was getting ready for the October trip I went back almost page by page looking for the October trip reports, etc. You know, research.LOL October is an awsome time of year to go, but it was the trip from hell for me as my DD29 and I fought almost the entire trip. I'd go again in October in a heartbeat! MNSSHP on October 31st last year was fantastic! I know you'll have a blast!

I enjoyed your report. Thanks for posting:D

Jennymouse - I went back and read your October report. Sounds like you had a much better time this trip! I was laughing about the string beans - we eat them mushy here in NC too.

I'm sorry about your Mom. I lost my Mom also to brain cancer 13 1/2 years ago and it seems like yesterday sometimes - I still miss her so much! My Dad got married again though - and that is another story!

I enjoyed your report very much! Thanks for sharing!

I also enjoyed your report very much. I read every day's report. I'm glad you were able to continue with the rest of your trip with minimal pain (ie: the stockings and using ECV). Sorry all that happened to you though!

That is TOO freaky about the guy kissing you guys on the lips. I probably would have reported him too- but then again, he had your address.... no sense ticking him off when he has that info. LOL (but seriously... I probably wouldn't have with him having my address!!!)

I remember your other report- and it does sound like even with the chaffing problem, bus problem, etc that you had a much better trip- and it sounds like it turned out that your friend was much better company than previous company... and DGD is always fun to be with. Atleast that's the way it comes across. :)

Hi Jenni
I, too, remember your last trip and the frustrations you had with your DD (she just doesn't have the disney infatuation thing goin' on like us:D ), but also how precious your DGD Skye was. I am so glad this trip went so much better. Thx so much for taking all the time to post all the details. It is truly appreciated. :D

Jenifer,
Thanks for taking the time to share your trip. We loved California Grill also. We plan on going back this trip. :D
