Well we went to WDW this week and I did SO very good again, only having allowed salads, meats and Atkins Shakes, until we went to the Poly to see Wishes with our goddaughters on the beach, we walked by O'Hana and it smelt incredible so I checked to see how long it would be for a seat, only 30 minutes, we were starving so I gave in and we ate there. Only problem is, it's 'family style" and everything on the selection for starters is a no no, even the salad had honey dressing... well I ate and ate and it was so very good and because it was almost Dfiance's B-Day and close to our Anniversary we were celebrating that night so I told the server who brought a huge Mickey Cake and I ate some... I know, very bad...lol! Well for my actions I gained 3 pounds, so instead of 18 lost, now I'm only 15 lost, but I guess thats pretty good for 23 days on my diet. Will not do this again, but now I'm feeling sad. Up until Monday night I had not so much had even looked at a carb loaded food item. Oh well... To my honor though this was the only time ever and will be the only time ever...

Darlene - don't feel bad! You're still down 15 lbs! That's wonderful!::yes:: You have to allow yourself to enjoy vacations and getaways, isn't that what they are for? You stayed OP, except for that meal! Way to go! Don't beat yourself up over it.

When you go to WDW in 17 days, have more of a plan. Learn from this and know that family style is not for you right now. Doesn't mean it NEVER will be, just not right when you are starting out. So, climb right back on your wagon and you go girl!::yes::

Congratulations on your 15 lb loss! Onward and downward!:sunny:

Darlene, I think you've got it all wrong. How about if I rewrite the story for you, OK?

"I've been on Atkins for 23 days and lost 15 pounds!! I'm feeling great. I only had one meal that was off plan. It was good, but I got right back on my eating plan and am back to shrinking!"

There, doesn't that sound better?

You're doing a great job! Celebrate your awesome successes, learn from your 'Ohana experience and move on to the future!

No one's perfect, Darlene. We're all going to eat off plan at some point. What we need to learn is how to move forward and get right back on plan instead of letting one meal turn into a 2 month break. :sunny:

Now, let's get back to the business of moving onward and downward. :sunny: :sunny:

Don't be too hard on yourself.

I figure I can not promise to NEVER cheat. Things will happen. However, if 99% of the time I am eating healty then I am a LONG way ahead of where I was before!

If you make it TOO restrictive and beat yourself up for small misstakes, I think it just makes it easier to give up when you do slip.

15 lbs in 23 days is great! I wish I was doing that well!

I agree, don't feel bad about it, we have all been there before! 15 pounds is a wonderful start and something to be very happy about!! It is in the past now, so just start fresh and you will be fine!! :) We are all here for you! :)

I agree w/ everyone else...don't feel bad! :) 15 pounds is great! I started earlier this year, too, and I'm only down 11. So you're doing great! Last weekend DH and I were VERY bad, so I know how you feel! I really think we need those bad days every now and then.

You know, today at WW DH told the girl he had a bad day eating the other day, and she said "just remember that a bad day doesn't mean YOU are bad". While she obviously does not know DH ;) she has a good point! Dust yourself off and move on, don't be sad, focus on the positive!:D

Darlene ~ I have to agree with the other posts. Don't be too hard on yourself. This is a new healthy lifestyle that you are embarking on but no matter how committed you are to your weight loss, there are going to be times when you fail. This is not a sign of weakness but just that you are human.

You have done so well so far. Onward and downward.

Ditto to everything already said. I especially liked the way Doreen changed your statement to reflect the positive facts! It won't be long before you'll be able to recognize what your body can/cannot handle with this new way of eating. And if the repurcussions (sp?) are enough to literally make you sick, you will make different choices. If all that happened was a temporary weight gain, then that's really not so bad 'cause we all know you couldn't have possibly gained 3 lbs in just one meal alone.

 sweetie. You were definitely "NOT BAD" ... you went out and enjoyed a meal that was not totally in line with your program.
