I can cut back my carbs -- way back -- but I honestly don't think I can give up the veggies. They just make me feel healthy. I actually had nightmares about this last night! Chatting and then going right off to bed made me think of you guys in my sleep!:eek:

LOL...remember that this is TEMPORARY....after a week (or 2) you can have some veggies again.

I have another question???:

What is the deal with Velveeta Cheese???? I was cutting some up this morning and it said that there was 3 Carbs and 2 sugars in 1 oz.

Whats up with that???

I guess thats a no - no now too?

Velveeta Cheese is a processed cheese product -- not 100% REAL cheese. I enjoy the Cracker Barrell yellow sharp cheese --- it is very similar to velveeta but 0 carbs.

Keep reading those labels Tracy --- you'll get the hang of it!

Have you ever looked at American Cheese? The real thing is lableled "American Cheese"
the fakey carbo laden stuff is labelled "American Cheese Food"

Stick to the real thing....
 

During the first two weeks - Induction - you are supposed to have 3 cups of salad veggies a day. Or 2 cups of salad veggies and 3/4 cup of other vegetables, maybe cooked with dinner. Don't ever cut veggies out of your diet completely! Make sure you get your 3 cups per day! :) :)

Thanks for explaining. I don't think I will be participating in that... as I am trying to methodically add in carbs (OWL) and really don't want to resort to dramatic efforts to lose the rest of the weight. Being successful with what I am doing - not going to tamper with success.
 
I'm proud of you Laura. You have done so well with this.

This is sort of a joke challenge. We are only doing this for one week, not so much to lose a lot of weight, but to prove Alex wrong, or for him to prove himself right. LOL, he claims that you lose more weight when you just stick to protein, fat and cheese and really slow your weight loss by adding in "fancy" low carb things like the low carb bars, low carb candy, or make low carb recipes.

I'm not sure why he decided we couldn't have the vegetables either, but that's what he said.

If those of us who took the Alex Challenge make it one week and lose significantly more than we have been losing, he will add clipart to his signature for one week. He refuses to have clipart in his siggie right now, so it is just a fun thing we are doing.

We are not crash dieting or anything, it's more of an experiment :)
