Has the ride California screamin' changed since 2005? Does it not go upside down anymore? I ask because in pictures taken recently that I have seen since I last have been there it looks smaller.

It definitely DOES go upside down -- we rode it yesterday. AFAIK, no changes have ever been made to it. Perhaps my favorite coaster of all time!

Nope. As everyone said, it's the same ride. The countdown at the launch has gone through a few different voices but that's about it!

It used to be that the loop was inside a Mickey head. They change that so it may look different, but the loop itself is the same.

Ah ha! That's what it might be! I now remember There was a Mickey head there when I went. Now it's a sun? No wonder I'm confused!

Yeah, just the trim around the loop has changed...it's a sun instead of a Mickey.
