Hi all,
Well every year we have to go take a annunal physical and medical testing at headquters.so i went to day for my testing.the test include,eye/hearing/blood/blood pressure/ekg/chest x-ray for those at the world trade center/face mask refitting test to make sure it still fits,and physical testing.so at the physical they put a 60 pound vest on you and you have to walk on a stair master for 5 minutes.It's equal to 30 flights of steps,you can't hold on or fall off otherwise you fail.they also hook you up yto a heart monitor test to make sure your heart rate does not go over a certain amount.my heart rate should have been between 140 and 170 beats per minute at max performance.anything higher is a problem and the lower is really good.mine was 130 after the 5 minutes on this stair way from hell.so i go see the FDNY dr and he says,good you passed your hearing test,whats that doc i did not hear you . And i see you passed your vision test too,hey doc can you mave a little closer so i can see you .then he says you passed your stair master test,your in good shape for a fat guy .now i know I'm chubby i have a gut.but in good shape for a fat guy???i consider myself chubby.even though i can still perform this job better than some of the new guys.he goes on to tell me to think about a diet.
He tells me my chest x-ray looks good,but to quit smoking.Right there i got really scared cause this guy does not know i smoke.Did my x-ray look that bad?I ask,he says he can see the pack of smokes in my top pocket.Oh, ok phew.he tells me my urine drug test was negative and it shows I'm not doing drugs.What?I demand a retest!!I just was smoking crack doc,how could it be negative? but to be honest the whole in great shape for a fat guy really made me mad!I did'nt tell him for out of all the people i know with bad breath he had the best foul mouth odor i know,did i?

Congrats on passing all your test.
And as for the fat guy remark, you should have popped him one in the mouth and than said there how was that punch for a fat guy.

The doctor wasn't very tactful with the "fat guy" remark, besides he should know that weight in and of itself is not the only indicator of health/fitness.

I'm not really defending the guy, but in all honesty he probably could smell the cigarette smoke on you. Smokers smell somewhat like cigarettes all the time, even if they haven't lit up recently.

Maybe your doc doesn't want to be saved when he gets into an emergency situation? Honestly, normal aging puts weight on us. In order to look completely thin, like I did in my twenties, I'd have to subsist on nothing but Slimfast and rice cakes! I'm sure you look fine!
