During this trip, I rode test track for the first time. My 5 yr old DD and DH had been on it before and I figured I should try it. Well, I probably won't ride again it was scary to me LOL.

Anyway, I rode the ride with my 5 yr old DD then did baby swap to watch my younger DD, as I was outside in front of test track I was watching the track up above. Something I noticed after I rode it was that the entire track shakes each time a car passes. Is this supposed to shake ,it looked to me like it shouldn't be doing that, It really freaked me out. Please tell me there is some reason for the entire track to be moving.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question.
Oh by the way the trip was awesome

Structures are designed to flex. The next time you get stuck in traffic on a bridge, sit still and you can feel it move.

My husband tells me he'd be worried if it didn't move! He says it's designed to do that.

On the way to work, I always get stopped at a light at the end of a bridge. There is a beer warehouse nearby and quite often a beer truck comes across and you can feel it shake!

It is most definately designed to do that, Structures either bend or break, it is your choice, so engineers build in flex to every major stucture. I was told a hotel I was in here in Atlanta is built to sway 11 feet in wind.

TT has done that for years, from my personal observations. It's normal. As for other structures, a couple of weeks ago I was in slow moving traffic on I-94 going through downtown Chicago. The East and West bound lanes are independent structures. I noticed that each side of the highway was bouncing up and down as traffic moved over it. There was noticable movement where the railings from both sides were next to one another.

When you ride in an airplane you will notice that the wings also move up and down. That really scared me the first time I rode. I kept waiting for them to pop off the whole trip. My husband said the same thing as some one else. It has to flex to not pop apart.
