That's what they call it when you're not really needed and you get the option of going home or staying!

Ofcourse you know which one I went with! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester:

Ummmmmm....... I'm taking a shot in the dark here and guessing ........ HOME??!!;) :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Never heard of being cancelled before! I would go HOME though!!!!

You were cancelled? Is that anything like being deleted?

Kath are you joining me in the confused club again?

Whoo-hoo Blondie!! More DIS time! :teeth:

Oops...I should've been a little more specific, huh?

Thanksgiving was one of my holidays to work this year.

On a holiday if the patient census is low enough, they start "cancelling" staff members.

We only had one stable pre-term pregnant patient, so I got to go home because they really didn't need me!

Let's just say if I had my choice between the two...I'd rather be cancelled! ;)

Kathy, I thought you got fired! Then I thought they fired you because you're pregnant with those twins.;)

LOL @ Shannon.

Kejoda and I are very grateful for the explanation. We are apparently easily confused ;)

I'm so glad you weren't deleted :teeth:

Hey Blondie, Me too, I was deleted, called-off, or whatever you want to call it. All I know is that I should be at work right now and I'm here posting on the Dis board. Life is good! BTW, we have a whole 5 patients. Now if they would just call me off tomorrow too....LOL Hey Blondie! What kind of unit do you work on? I work on the high risk ante-partum unit, thats why I'm asking. Have a nice night off!

Glad you got to be home Blondie and not eat in the hospital cafeteria! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hope you enjoyed your day. :D

Roliepolie, I work in Labor & Delivery, which is combined with post partum, but I mostly work on L&D because that is where the action usually is. We had 14 post partum patients, and they were all pretty quiet yesterday, lots of family visiting, but still not needing too much. Only one PROM patient who was stable on L&D. We also do high risk, but we don't have a separate unit, not yet. They are building on to the hospital and giving us 18 more beds, which will probably be used for high-risk patients. That'll give us a total of 55 beds for L&D, high risk antepartum, and post-partum.

Monday is looking to be hectic, 5 scheduled inductions, 2 5pm cytotecs and 2 scheduled c-sections, plus whatever else walks in the door. Thankfully, I'm not working Monday!

Newmousecateer, I still got to eat in the cafeteria, as I didn't get to leave until 7:30! It was okay....but it wasn't very hot! I like hot food hot, and cold food cold.

JasonLyons in the medical field, when you die, you expire! I haven't expired yet! ;)

Well I hope you used the extra time off to take the twins and go visit poor Bernie in prison, Blondie. . . . :teeth:

;)

LOL Willy, I took Bernie a pumpking pie w/a file inside.

I'd imagine he's still sawing away at the bars as I type this.

Hurry home Bernie!!! Hurry home!!!!!
