I want to propose to my GF of 6 years this summer at WDW. She is a big Princess fan as well as a big Tinkerbell fan. I was wondering if there was a way to get characters involved in my proposal? Would it cost alot? Would they do it for free? I don't know exactlly what I want to do but I'
m open for suggestions!:confused3

Aww that is so sweet. My DF proposed to me at the wishing well next to the castle it was nice sweet, romantic, and surprising not full of people and its nice every time we go back to WD we go back to the well and take the same picture as we did when we got engaged. :lovestruc :cloud9: I would also see about the castle for dinner during wishes. They have a package that you can get with a glass slipper and photos, and also i read some where on a carriage ride at the FWL and also POFQ. You have soooo many options call disney and see what they can do for you something magical and also watch wish on the beach at poly hope this helps

You could talk to the CM's about it over the phone. Or you could always propose to her in the Pixie Hollow Meet & Greet. Not sure how romantic that would be though.:rotfl: Or during the fireworks. If you really want to get some characters involved your best bet would be talking to some CM's on the phone. I'm sure they can arrange something. Not sure of the cost though. Goodluck!

We saw a proposal at Crystal Palace Restaurant in MK pretty with the castle in the backdrop - must have been a set up because as soon as she hugged him there was a rush of photog's there!

What about California Grill during evening fireworks????

You have soooo many options at Disney World, good luck have a great time and let us know!!)

I know that DFi looked into getting characters involved and he was told that if you went and greeted them it wasn't possible, but you could hire them for large amounts of money.

DFi asked me on the bridge to Tomorrowland. Spending the "tomorrow" of our lives together.

Yep! VERY Expensive. I think renting a character for a few hours is $5-10K.

Here's a mouseweddings link with more info.

DF just proposed two weeks ago in Disney! He forced me into doing the thing off of Main Street where an artist draws you as a cartoon image. He made me sit there for an hour and a half, and when the artist was done, he turned around the drawing and it was a drawing of my boyfriend on one knee with a big ring in his hand and me standing next to him with our names on the bottom and "will you marry me?" written on top. I looked at him and he was on one knee with a beautiful ring!

My DF proposed to me on a horse drawn carriage ride on the fort wilderness grounds. The driver came up to a big clearing in the woods where you could see disney across the lake just as the fireworks stated going off and stopped. Then he talked to the disney florest people and had the driver equipped with a white pillow of roses with a glass slipper and tiara on the top of it. She came over and said "My Lord, I have found the ladies slipper!" and handed me the flower pillow. Then he got down on one knee with the fireworks over the castle and asked me. it was amazing. The carriage ride was only 40.00 I have no idea how much the pillow of flowers/glass slipper/tiara cost.

It was super romantic and I felt just like a princess! it was very private too.

I am pretty sure that renting a character is either $550 or $650 per half hour. I think that the more characters you book the cheaper it may be. I am pretty sure its all billed in half hour increments though so its up to you how long you want them.

If you have a big budget then I would get the grand 1 yacht for the fireworks and fill it with characters.

I have seen other people wait in line to visit with mickey and then ask mickey to get down on one knee with them. I never really thought much of it - but its free.

I know the GF can set up private dining with characters just for you.

Honestly if she loves the princesses that much I would just look into doing the castle dinner package (only negative is that its filled with TONS of kids). I know someone else mentioned you should book for the fireworks. Before the restaurant switched to the character dining I was in there a lot for the fireworks (it was our fav restaurant then) and always thought that you couldn't see them as well as you could standing in front of the castle. But it would be very romatic to propose just as the fireworks started.
