I have been looking some of the layouts that you all have posted and :worship:. They are GREAT!!

I scrapped (traditional) for years and then it came to a halt. My DD6 "suggested/ requested" that I make her more scrapbooks like her baby one.

So, I am thinking I will go digi this time, but I'm lost!:scared: HELP!!!

What program to use? Should I have the pages printed and put them in a book myself or have them printed as a book? Where would I have them printed from?? What do you do?

I know the possbilities are endless, I did a search on digital scrapbooking and :scared1:! Hope you can help me get started.

I also have 2 WDW trips to scrap!

What program to use? This just depends on what you're comfortable using and what your budget allows. Some people use the Creative Memories software, some people use Photoshop Elements, and there's a few others out there too. I use Photoshop Elements because it was relatively inexpensive and there's several tutorials out there for using it. Whatever you pick you just need to get familiar with the program and find some tutorials to show you some tricks. Everybody has their favorite....there's no "right" or "wrong" software to use, kwim?

Should I have the pages printed and put them in a book myself or have them printed as a book? I buy the regular post-bound albums and just have the pages printed and slip them in like a regular scrapbook page.....just now my book closes a LOT easier! :lmao: I have, however, had the pre-bound books (like from Shutterfly) printed and given them as gifts to people. But for my own personal use, I like the traditional scrapbooks. Just personal preference though.
Where would I have them printed from?? What do you do? I use a site called scrapbookpictures.com I've only had one shipment from them arrive bent, and they immediately sent me a new shipment. I've ordered tons of stuff from them and have no complaints. There's also tons of websites out there for that as well.

There's a sticky at the top with FAQ (I'll admit I haven't looked at it in awhile), but I'd start there.......pick your software, go download some freebies, and then find some tutorials. Piece of cake, right? :thumbsup2

And of course if you have a specific question, one of us here can probably help. There's enough of us using different software that surely somebody will be using whatever you pick

Good luck! :goodvibes

thank you!!:woohoo:

I'm going with Elements. Just got a new DSLR camera and wanted to get that for editing anyway. :cool1:

Well, if you get frustrated with the PSE learning curve, pick up SBC+ and join us on that thread! :thumbsup2 I have PSE for editing and SBC+ for scrapping! I think a lot of us do!

Here are my answers from another thread:
I'll try!:goodvibes

Yes, they print out like big pictures. With the right shadowing and texture, you'll have people touching them because they have so much dimension. There are a lot of online places that print out 12x12's prices start around $2.00 a page and go up from there.

Yes, you buy kits and then assemble your pages much like you would traditional using a program such as PS Elements, CS4 or Paint Shop Pro. Anything that will let you work in layers and add shadows. The best part is you can use stuff over and over (just make sure to use a copy of the item) and hit undo if you don't like something. And yep, you can reuse stuff and mix and match as much as you want. (however, sharing products, even freebies with others is a big no no and proper credit should always be given to the designers)

It can be a little overwhelming at first but it is so addicting and so much fun! The best thing you can do is read tutorials for the program you use and collect a few freebies to get yourself started. A good place for DIS inspired freebies is on Britt's Blog: http://brittishdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/07/magical-autographs-album.html You'll have to go through the posts to find the freebies but trust me they're worth it. One of the best places I found when I first started for tutorials for all programs was DSP: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/tutorials.shtml Their tuts are easy to understand and grouped by program.
Any questions, all the girls in the Digi Scrap thread are very helpful and if I can be of any help just shoot me a pm!
