I have a DD-6 44 inches, who's still timid (hasn't done Splash mountain, or Thunder Mountain),

and we're going over spring break next year March 26 - April 3 to DVC with Inlaws (2BR - OKW). But the points over Fri / Sat are so high (100/ night), that I'm thinking of going to Universal for a Fri / Sat instead.

How expensive will it be for one room (2 doubles okay).

ANd how do we get front of the line passes or whatever. I'd like to try it. Do I just buy a 2 day pass or length of stay or what. What is the best deal? and if We stay Fri / Sat night, can we go to the park Sat / Sunday (we'll need to get some sleep from flying in...)

And which Hotel should we stay at for Suess/ and swimming...

Any info appreciated,

Goldi

Be warned that FOTL has a tendency to convert WDW loyalists.
I would stay off site the day/night of arrival so you'll be able to check-in early take advantage of a full day of FOTL. Staying one night gets you FOTL the next day too.
You probably would want RPR. If you don't have annual passes the best rate will be Entertainment rate.

What is RFR ?

I saw HRH is Hard Rock Hotel.

And how do I get the entertainment rate.

I'm starting to read, and saw that someone said to try Lows?

RPR-Royal Pacific Resort

Entertainment rate- have to purchase an entertainment book (coupons, discounts, etc)--it comes with a card that gets you discounted rates at Universal

Could also try AAA rates

You will have a great time at Universal! By staying at the resorts, you will have fotl (front of the line) access. Better than express passes as it's already included!

Royal Pacific is the least expensive hotel located on-site at Universal. Hard Rock is next, and the most expensive would be Portofino. Rates vary from season to season, you can check the Lowes hotel site, or the Universal studios web site for more information. Go to universalstudios.com and you will learn lots. Staying on-site is the best and front of the line (FOTL) cannot be beat. Good luck.

Go to www.loewshotels.com & click on Orlando, then click on whichever onsite hotel you are interested in pricing (Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, or Portofino Bay). Enter your arrival/departure info., number of persons & discount rates. The rate codes you can try if you have any of them would be AAA, FAN (Fan Club - although I'm not sure if there are FAN club rates any longer), and APH (Annual Pass Holder - you'll have to purchase at least one annual pass to get this discount). They also offer ENT (Entertainment card) discounts through Loews, but you'll have to call Loews direct to get those quotes (1-800-23LOEWS). Good luck, I think you definitely find that staying onsite (if it fits into your budget) will spoil you forever. :D
