So i'm a 17 year old guy and I'm about 5'11" and i have had this life long dream of playing the face character of Peter Pan at Disney World in Florida. I'm caucasian (specific:Irish and Italian), I have long light brown hair and i'm about 145 pounds. I can act. I have been in school shows and community theater plays etc. But i know Peter Pan is suppose to be a kid so i'm afraid 5'11" might be too tall... Will Disney stretch the height requirements AT ALL when hiring face characters??? HELPPPP!!

I hate to say it, but I think you're too tall. I don't think they will stretch those requirements at all. I mean, all the Peter pans are supposed to look similar, so it wouldn't do for a Peter Pan to be almost half a foot taller. :confused3

I have a few friends who were characters- ironically they hired a good friend of mine and his twin brother to be Chip and Dale at the Disneyland parks.

Those characters can be tall.

However, face characters and specific costumed characters like Minnie and Mickey are held to very strict physicaly descriptions.

You might try looking into some of the parade dancing positions- the graveyard guys in the Boo to You parade are amazing- and there's more variation in height.
Or go for other characters. Perhaps Hook?

Have you met a Peter Pan @ WDW? I think it will give you a better idea for where you miss the mark- but I say expand your goal to other characters and go for it!

A bit on height requirements. Each character has a set range they can have friends from. Disney can and will measure you differently than your true height to fit you where they want/need you. That being said they are not going to be able to shrink you an amazing amount, usually its just a few (at most) inches.

I am not sure how tall Peter usually is but I am pretty positive at 5'11 your too tall to be friends with him. However 5'11 is within the height of most of the princes.

Not to sound like a debbie downer but being selected to be friends with a face character is extremely difficult/rare/doesn't happen often, particularly for males since there isn't as many male face characters so there is less need. In addition to the difficulty in getting selected, Disney tends to pull from within to fill face character needs. So my suggestion is to first aim to get in the Entertainment department and then work your way up from there. You may already know all that and if you do (or don't) don't let it discourage you from your dream. Its just always good to be armed with all the knowledge possible.

Unfortunately, Peter is very short. I think he's 4'10 to 5'2. Disney will sometimes measure your height an inch or two off if they need to but unfortunately at 5'11 you simply would not fit the costume.

Face characters are hard to get simply because they are VERY picky about physical features that are out of your control. For example, if you get a 5 o'clock shadow, you can't be Peter.

You ARE the right height to be friends with Goofy, Tigger, Woody, the princes, and a lot of the villians!

actually most the friends of peter I met where my height if not an inch or two shorter. i am 5'6. i never met a friend of his THAT short :) that height range is more along the lines of the friends of tinkerbell, and she's a shorter fairy.

I could be wrong though *shrugs*

Peter should be somewhere around the 5'3 to 5'8 range I'm thinking. I don't know much about Terrence but I think he's a little shorter and might go down as low as 5'1.

Oh and apparently Peter Pan is very tiny at Disneyland Paris because auditions call for 162 cm to 170 cm which is only about 5'0 to 5'6.

I just know that I am about 5'6 and everytime I have passed Peter in the tunnels, he has been shorter than me. I've never met him so I am only guessing based on passing him backstage. So while there may Peter's that are 5'6, that's probably the higher end of his range.
