Okay, so when the Graveyard Tree, Madam Leota set and Purple Mansion Rocker became buyable along with the Fantasyland Retro Pin, Safari Rug, and Hippo Rug...I was upset, but it didn't bug me too much. After all, the Mansion Quest was from a tour and the others were a prize pack that replaced the tour. Things that were eventually going to go away. But it still irked me a little. Especially since the Fantasyland Retro Pin and Leota were not sellable.

But the release of the Red Press through tonight's quest really got to me. Okay, so you pay money to get into a park...not directly tied to VMK quests. So if, say, the purple aladdin chair got a limited release like this...no biggie.

But the Red Press isn't a regular quest...it's a get-with-purchase card. Not only that, but (at DLR) you have to walk all the way to the Pooh Corner to get it. AND it has to be prepackaged candy. O_o Do you know how many gummy mickeys I've bought over the past few months just for these presses?

Ever wonder why nobody bothers to buy the shirts at the Star Trader shop in the park? Because the Mickey T-Shirt card you get for it is buyable! Who wants to pay real money for a virtual item that you can get for free in the game anyway?

Sometimes I'm left scratching my head at some of VMK's decisions. Why not the purple ones? Or blue?

ARG! I demand my candy money back!!! [-storms off to find Yavn-] :furious:

I heard they will be doing gold ears next quest (not really). I guess you could be upset a little since it was a spend money to get thing but it really isn't that big of a deal, there is a ton of this out there although I would say it about doubled today, VMK is trying to find the right balance on some things and with any hope it may mean new items would be available to go spend money on so we can have it for awhile before they release it in a quest next year.

It was definitely an interesting choice as an item for an in game quest.

I agree about the Red Press that it was a strange choice for a in game quest and they should have picked a different color. I only did the quest last night twice once for me and once for DS but I am sure there were MULES a plenty out last night. ;)

I beleive you have some facts wrong about the Haunted tree, Madame Leota set and the purple rocker I beleive those items have been around since Beta for sale even though they were also given out with the HM quest cards.

The Hippo rug is another story I just do not remember when it was added or if it was always there.

the red press was for sale when I started VMK

Yes, you are right they sure were ( not that I know when you started)just that they used to be for sale in the game.

Did you eat any of that candy you bought?? If not return it for a refund :-)

You paid money to have them in the game before anyone else. You got what you paid for, you had it first, before lots of other people.

Think of it like a VCR or DVD player. When they first came out many years ago, they cost lots of money, few people had them, everyone wanted them.
So in the course of time, they got cheaper so everyone could get them.

But those first people that bought them first - paid lots of money for them, should they have never made any more? Should they have never made them cheaper?

Try to be happy for your friends, and don't think so much about yourself.
For goodness sakes, they aren't even real, just paint on a computer screen.

Well, Dragon...I don't live anywhere near the parks, so when vmk offers a park only item on the game, I for one am ecstatic! I went to DLR in March and bought a ton of candy for my nephew ONLY for the red penny presses. I got 6 cards. Most of the people I know who live near the parks get them every time they go. Makes for an unfair advantage for the rest of the world, imo. I don't think it hurt anything by releasing them in the game, as they are fairly commonplace now, but I would like to see it happen with other park-only items. It would give the rest of the players an opportunity to acquire something on their own, without having to trade for it.
Besides, you get the luxury of seeing the real park and owning an actual card. :) That's worth much more than some silly piece of virtual furniture.

I'm pretty much done being surprised or shocked about anything vmk does anymore. I think they are making sense a little more often than they used to, but I still think they are doing a lot of tweaking. I suppose thats a good thing. I was a bit surprised to see the red presses, but not upset. I bought candy at WDW to get mine too, but its not like I wasn't going to buy candy anyway, lol.

To comment on the hippo rug, I always remember it being there, but I started later in beta, so can't say when they added it.

I was suprised by the choice myself. I am sure their e-mail is filled with lots of people who paid for their red penny presses. I am also surprised about the handling of the eye pin.

Maybe it will all make sense soon?

At the moment it seems like major contradictions. Like they want to get rid of items thought of as being rare, but at the same time they hand out a few random eye pins that are now uber rare?!?!

I am saving my judgement for now because we cant see what they are up to. Besides, the game aint over until its over ;)

yea i agree with dragon i wonder however there is a rumor that stitch will be buyable that poll on the home page said enough people get rid of your beta now because here it comes back!

Trip to WDW - $5,000.00

Candy purchased at Frontierland Outpost - $100.00

My Red Penny presses - Worthless :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just kidding folks :thumbsup2

It has been over a year with the same in park get with purchase items maybe a change is overdue....

How about it?

when the cards for these items runs out how about replacing them with "New & Fresh" in park gift with purchase items....

I know I am always looking to add more to my rooms and costumes. Not trying to make more work for your team or anything ;)

It seems we always want want want and forget to say Thank you.

I know this is about the Penny presses but isnt anyone excited about the red turnstile??? That is why I did the quest a few times... for the turnstile....

Thank you both for expressing my sentiments exactly! :thumbsup2
Especially that last part of Goofy's post. ;)

Come on people! Can you not read?
And I quote from Yavn Speaks:
Will Stitch Hats and Green Flips ever go on sale in the Emporium? Don't hold your breath!
In other words, he's saying no! They will NOT be sold.

I did it for both! I love red and was not able to get enough at Christmas when they were sold then. :)

Actually the Red penny was also Sold 1 day only at the Emporium in VMK last christmas. Then they switched it to green. Me and my good friend CaptainGoodGuy took this sale and bought as many as we could

The whole "you got it first" thing doesn't work out well. VMK never said "book your trip to DLR and get the Stitch Set first before it's released in the game for all". I noticed you keep using this analogy but in actually it's invalid, a good idea but not a fact of VMK. Sorry but you just can't start making up things to help get your point across ;)

About DVD and VCR,. true but these things were never intended to be considered exclusive, rare or limited. You're comparing apples to oranges when you try to compare the two.

Instead a better analogy would be using other limited editions from other games such as Habbo and SIMS and I can tell you I play both. Both games have some AMAZING rares so limited very few have but everyone wants. And Sulake or Maxis/EA would NEVER release them again ever! There is no questioning it or cry babying it. It's very straightforward. Something pulled off the shelf or sold for Christmas 2005, it's gone and that's all there is. You want it? Trade or hit up eBay. No whining to the staff about fairness. Nothing comes back and yet these games have MILLIONS of players.

But these games are played by more mature folk whereas the VMK babies like to whine about fairness and how they want everything ever made on VMK and they wanted it last week. Makes you wonder why VMK doesnt have MILLIONS of players? I think some people are turned off by all the whining.
