:thumbsup2 :woohoo: I too, have been researching about DVC ownership and I would like to own at the BWV. I received the book about SSR, but I like BWV. I have read enough information about ownership, but I just have some questions?

1. Is there a long waitinglist to own at BWV?
2. Should I look into resale for my UY of Feb. or Sept. and what is a good rate?
3. How does it work if I want a UY in Febuary, but I want to vacation in Sept., how would I make my ressie's or should I have a UY in September?
4. What are the options for buying with DVC and what are the interest rates if I consider financing with DVC or should I try to get an outside loan? I don't have all of the money saved yet to pay with cash.
5. How much of a down payment will I need if I finance with DVC?
6. Does WDW offer any specials for a tour of the property's, I will be in Orlando in during the last week of September and would love the opportunity to tour the BWV, STS, and OKW, before I make my choice.

I appreciate any advice or opinions from my future neighbors. :grouphug: :cheer2: :bitelip: Thank you.

My heart  :cheer2: :yay: is racing just writing this email and anticipating :rolleyes1 the responses. I have NEVER :sad2: been to WDW and I just want to share in the magic. For now, I will only need a one bedroom, but hopefully will be able to add more points in the following years for another resort or bigger rooms.

Hi Queenmum,

What an exciting time for you. Here is what I know:

  • Boardwalk Villas , as of this month anyway, has an open house to view the rooms
  • DVC "sold-out" resorts, ie. BWV, are at $98 a point from Disney right now ....I think...someone help me out here....(EDIT: $95 from Disney confirmed below)
  • there are pluses and minuses of Disney vs. resales
  • Disney is an easier process if they have BWV inventory available...I'm pretty sure they would have somethingto choose from. BCV is the one that is the most difficult.
  • but you probably will be able to get a better deal with resale...lower price
  • but remember Disney may be higher priced but they do give you last year's points as well
  • look for contracts with banked points if you want to go resale
  • I'll wait for someone else to answer all your UY questions
  • Saratoga Springs has the traditional DVC tour

I'm sure I missed a lot of your questions. Someone will come by soon. I stayed at BWV in March and absolutely loved it. In fact, we didn't even leave the area. Played football and soccer out on the front lawn just outside our suite, hung out on the BW, went over to Beaches and Cream (a fun ice cream parlour/diner) at the BC and MGM and Epcot of course. Nope, never left the area that trip. Oh once for Typhoon Lagoon!!!! The BWVs are so beautiful. I dream of an add-on there. Good luck with your decision.

1. DVD (Disney Vacation Development, the corporate side of DVC) reportedly has small amounts of BWV points in inventory available for direct sale. This will likely require you to push through your assigned "guide's" efforts to sell you SSR, which is the priority for the company.
2. Can't tell, and only you can decide, but "prices" seem to be in the 83-86 range.
3. The relationship between UY and desired vacation time is multi-faceted at best. Will you vacation the same time for the next 36 years? That said, you will receive points each February for use until the next Jan 31st. You can make reservations anytime inside that Feb-Jan window with those points 11 months prior to your check-out date at BWV as long as your account is in good standing---that is to say you can make reservations with points "before they arrive" in your account.
4. Unsure... Believe that info should have come with your SSR package. Expect 10% interest and 5 or 10 year terms.
5. 20% maybe more if you have soft credit...
6. The only true tour is at SSR. BWV may have an example room open to walk through. All the resorts are open and functioning... When stopped at the gates tell the guards you are a prospective buyer and want to look around.

Advice... All over these boards... Check out the resale sponsor of the DVC boards and look at better ways to finance than through Disney---home equity, etc.

You'll love the BoardWalk. Hope it works out for you.

I can tell you they have 0 points for a Dec. use year (I called to add on - again).

Just checked the Time Share Store. They have 16 different listings for BWV. Have you checked with them? That's where we purchased our OKW contract. :thumbsup2

All the "sold out" resorts through Disney Direct are $95 per point not $98.

we bought at TSS.

call them and tell them what you want (get on their "list")... points, use year, price, etc. the best deals get sold before they make it to the web site.

that is what we did, and got EXACTLY what we wanted.

We are in the process of purchasing an add on at BWV (not through Disney). We were on Disney's waitlist for BCV and BWV (any use year) but got tired of waiting (two weeks is a long time when you have add-on-itis). My guide told me points for BCV and BWV were $92. Our add on is costing $86 per point.

You've never been there? Have you been to Disneyland? You are in for a treat!

You've never been there and your heart is racing??!!

Just wait til you go! DVC resorts will make your heart melt! WDW magic will be yours!!

Good luck! I am in the process of waiting for WDW's ROFR and hoping to pass (resale at BCV). So far, it has been a easy smooth process (much easier than I thought even--so wonder everyone's always adding on!! LOL)

Again, good luck with the whole process.

I want in too... just waiting for CASH and Feb use year...

Good luck to you. :sunny:

I want in at BWV too!!

We are planning on going through the Timeshare Store when we are ready (early next year). Until then...no Disney trips for us :sad2: ...and it's KILLING me!!!!

Congrats Queenmum!

We bought a BWV resale through the Timeshare Store. They were great!! I'd use them again in a second.

We got our BWV points last year from Disney.

There must be BWV points available because....

Last week Thursday we called our guide and asked to be added to BWV waitlist. (ANy use yr - up to 150 pts.)

Later that night, saw BWV contract on ATimeshare.com (Jaki). Called and put offer on it that night.

Friday....offer accepted.

Monday - offer submitted to Disney.
Monday night - checked DVCmember.com .OOOps - A BWV 150 pt contract shows up! Check credit card - pending charges has $500 deposit listed. Call guide and decline them because resale is a loaded contract - about same cost.

Tuesday - points disappear and resale passes ROFR. (One day - holy cow!)

SO - points are out there if you are flexible on Use Year.
