This past weekend I was at a friends house for a yearly Gathering. It was 14 families, we have been meeting every year (sometimes with as many as 22 families).

I have a collection of still pictures (digital) that I want to put together with music and maybe some captions with the pictures. Anyone know how to do this?

Mike, didn't you do this with the Tree Towers on youtube? Did you do it all on there or someplace else?

TIA!

Hi Starann,
You might want to look at Smilebox. It is really easy to use, and it is free. Two mighty fine qualities in a software program...

1. buy a mac
2. use imovie
done

alternative:
1. use a pc
2. Fight through errors as you install some program that can't even come close to replicating imovie
3. Fight with drivers and format issues
4. after pulling your hair out, you buy a mac:lmao:

Windows Movie Maker works pretty good if you're just trying to capture and share vacation or family photos.

I agree with Mike. WMM works great for something simple like photo's, music and some nice transitions. If you're trying to piece together movies, I've had nothing but trouble due to all the varying types of movie files, including HD which just screws the program up.

KORor
wow so true.
I sat down started up iMovie never having used it before and next thing you know I had made a pretty cool movie - never even read one instruction.

If you have windows movie maker, you can put your photos in their and use auto movie. It will add the transitions for you. Then add the music. It is not hard. Good Luck!

PhotoBucket and a few of the other free picture-sharing web sites allow you to create slide shows you can share.

Someone told me yesterday about Vegas Movie Maker, they swear by it, but it is a pay site. I'm content with Windows Movie Maker for now.

I don;t have Windows Movie Maker....blech! And I don't have a Mac....blech!

I looked at the one free site someone suggested...you can pay (it's not that bad of a fee) for a 'higher grade' membership.

Guess I'll have to keep looking!

Songs.....anyone....anyone?

You can download Windows Movie Maker for free.

iFilm comes free with
A MAC!
