I voted today.

I voted today and so did DH!
Mom voted on Tuesday. I prefer to vote early when possible--just in case something happens on election day! I know, I'm weird! LOL But what if I caught a stomach bug?! LOL

I voted on Monday. Our Early Voting has been going on for SEVERAL weeks now.

I did not like either Presidential candidate so I wrote in Hillary!! (well I actually typed it in on the computer screen)

My Dh and I voted today! We took our 3 children with us, and they were not impressed at all. However, my oldest Ds12 thought it was cool that it was all computerized. I guess the younger two (7 and 9yrs) were expecting something big to happen because when we got inside to vote, they were disappointed. "That's it! That's all you do." To which my DH replied, "Yes, that is all you do!"

I voted on Tuesday. It felt great! I have never been so proud to vote for a candidate as I am to vote for Barack Obama.

I'm not understanding the idea of early voting. I thought an absentee ballot was if you were not going to be near your polling place on election day but otherwise you voted in person on election day. I'm not trying to say anything mean but just trying to understand.

Just fyi - MA does have early voting so maybe it is city by city. It isn't advetised. My husband called me Tuesday morning to tell me he had to leave Thursday morning (Oct 23) for a work trip to Thailand. We expected it but not that quick notice. He isn't scheduled to return until Nov 8th. I called my city hall and explained that he hadn't signed up for absentee ballot. The person said he just had to show up by 7pm to vote Tues or Wed. He is all set. I will vote in person on election day and bring my kids. My 8 year old is very excited to see the election and my 4 year old - well can't be left at home alone.

I think it may be state by state. In NE you used to have to supply a reason for an absentee ballot. Then anyone could get one, no reason needed, and now there are polling places set up at courthouses so you can either go pick up your absentee ballot and then mail it in, or you can go in and vote. It takes a momennt for them to get the correct ballot for your precinct, but it totally beats waiting in line on election day. And I am guessing it helps increase voter turn-out as it makes it easier for some people to vote on their own schedule.

Don't think we haveearly voting but wouldn't vote early even if we did. Still not sure if I'm voting for the president..I don't want either one in office. Last election I voted for the lesser of 2 evils, not sure if I want to go in and vote feeling that way again.

I've never waited in long lines on election day...maybe 15-20minutes max. It usually goes really fast. Living in a small village helps with that I guess.

I will vote for the local elections. Lots of people NOT getting my vote again this time around.

Early voting and absentee are two different ways of voting. Here you can vote absentee just like always and in that case you do have to say why you can't vote on election day.
Early voting is just that. Maybe you don't want to stand in line or maybe you just want to get it over with. You do not have to give a reason for why you are participating in the early voting.

The votes either way are not counted until after the polls close on November 4th.

I've never encountered long lines while voting but I know they had crazy long lines here for the primaries, so I'm sure for the general election it will be nuts. But they are offering early voting, so hopefully that will help.

DH and I both voted this morning. Got there 45 minutes before the poll opened and there was already about 50 people in line. Once they opened the doors, we were in and out in 15 minutes.

This was the most excited I have been to cast a vote since 1992 (my first election).

I voted on Saturday morning!

I could have gone on election day as I live in a small town and we very rarely have lines but I wanted to insure that my vote was cast just in case something happened to me between now and Nov. 4th. ;)

My state doesn't have early voting yet. It is actually something that is on the ballot this election.
