well it's short! All I wanted to do was trim her bangs, a few wisps were too long. So I got out the scotch tape and cut. That scotch tape trick never works right! Oh well, it will grow back.

Any other do-it-yourself-hair dressers out there?

I did this to DD (21 months) also!
Except I cut a small notch from the middle of ther bangs! I had bad scissors and she kept moving around. You could only tell if they were combed straight. And since her hair is usually all over the place you could never really tell.
Next week I am taking her to get them trimmed at a hair salon. I would rather pay the $4! :D

When DH and I first got married he wanted me to trim his hair. I told him I couldn't cut hair. I was told anyone could trim hair. We will be married 30 years this Oct. and guess what: He has never had me trim his hair again. I tried to tell him!!!!:p

When my boys were younger I used to give them buzz cuts. It mostly went well except for the day I forgot to put the guide on and gave my middle DS a reverse mohawk, he was bald right down the middle! Luckily he was 2 and could have cared less, I let him walk around like that because I didn't want to completely bald him. I had a woman walk up to me and point blank say "So what is wrong with him" double:eek:  -- I gave him a bad haircut do you mind!! Also when trimming oldest DS before we got pictures taken I took too much off around the one ear so I colored it in with brown magic marker! If you look real close you can see it in the portrait and we still laugh about it. Now they are 12 and 10 and won't let me near them with the clippers other than to do sideburn touch ups and not too often at that.

Have you tried the Crazy Glue trick?

No, wait, scratch that. Bad idea.

Been there, done that. DD was about 2 and her bangs grow FAST! I didn't want to have to pay money just for a quick bang trim that I could do at home. I was doing just fine by myself until one day she decided to turn her head to look at something just as I went snip. Her bangs were about a quarter of an inch below her hairline. Luckily though, because her bangs grow fast, in a few weeks she was looking normal again. After that, I started taking her to the salon for the cuts.

What is the scotch tape trick anyway??? I've never heard of it.

You tape the bangs down straight across and cut below the tape. Don't try it.

My Mom used to cut my bangs. It was always a disaster. Cut a bit more to make it straight, then a bit more. You get the picture.

The day my second DS turned 2 he gave himself a "haircut". Cut his bangs down to the scalp. We laugh now and say that we can tell about how old he is in pictures by how long his bangs are! :p

Be careful, DH cut our DD's bang's and cut off some of her eyebrow. Our older DD and her friends got a big kick out of that. I didn't. DD is 3 and will only let me cut her bangs now, not Daddy.

These are all too funny!!! :teeth:

I have always cut DD's hair and have a pretty good job of it.
If I do say so myself. :)

I think we have only gotten her hair cut at a salon about 3-4 times just out of convenience and DH was with getting his cut too.
