SHARE with ya'll!!! DS's high school band won STATE this past weekend! First time in the HISTORY of the school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The beat the perennial favorite powerhouse and it was a night I will never forget! They were on the front page of the paper yesterday! (usually that's reserved for football victories!), on the evening news, and will be honored at the County School Board meeting next week!

I'm still absolutely HIGH from all this! You may remember we struggled with the decision to move DSs from 11 years of Catholic schools/family tradition goin g back 100 years to the public high school, but we did it just for their super band program and what a payoff! He's happy, I'm happy, everything's great!

Thank you! This was a big surprise as usually other bands win the big stuff and we come in 2nd or 3rd or sometimes lower! The are playing in WDW in late March. I'll let any DSI-ers know!

Another band mom checking in here. Congratulations!!! I know you are so proud. Band kids work so hard and often times get overshadowed by the sports teams. Tell your ds your dis friends are proud of him and his band.

Oh good luck to your DS's band! It's so nerve wracking sitting in the stands waiting for the results! I thought I would scream!

That is great! I know they worked so hard to get there and the whole band deserves alot of attention. We are always underappreciated and disrespected, especially the color guard (I am a first year "guardie" ). Congratulations to him and the rest of the band!

He's lucky to be at a high school where the band/guard kids are not considered geeks! The Drum Major was homecoming king! The whole school's really proud of them! Heck, our whole town is! We're a one town, one high school town! Ds's girlfriend is in guard. Great gals!

Way to go Wando! My DH graduated from there almost 20 years ago. Great school in a county with not so many great high schools!
