Okay - I installed the program for my new digital camera, but now I'm lost..

I am SOOOOOOOO dense when it comes to this stuff.. I'm sure the directions would be perfectly clear to anyone else, but to me it looks like:

"Insert A in E - being careful to avoid 3 times 4. If 9 looks like Z please refer back to last years tax form, line 37. After activating the goldish-bluish-greenish button select (a) plain - (b) extra cheese - (c) hold the anchovies. As soon as activation is complete, rotate tires and place an "x" in the third box to the left on Schedule D. Locate the reddish-brownish-blackish button and click repeatedly until it equals your shoe size or the year of your Mother's birth..."

And on...and on..and on....

Can I trade this in for one of those old "Brownie" cameras???

<font color=green> I decided not to install the program for my digi-cam on my computer, and have been using a simple card reader to download my pics. Love it!

Good luck on all those instructions. You might want to grab an 11 yr old to explain it all ;)

I do the same as Mary Jo! And I think her advice is very good ;)

Good luck trying to figure it all out!

Okay - I give....

What is a "simple card reader"? Fortune teller? Librarian??

I told you I'm "dense"....

hee hee hee...and NOW you know why I keep recommending the Sony Mavica. The "film" is a simple floppy disk that you just pop into your computer like any regular floppy disk.......

hee hee hee.....sadly, I'm not sure they even make the camera anymore.

Good luck! I'm sure your instructions are accurate just as you've written them! Don't forget to turn on the bedroom light switch once BEFORE setting the little red knob on the camera to "ultra ZAP!"......ok?

You can get a card reader at Best Buy or Circuit City. It plugs in to the USB port of your computer. You take the memory card out of your camera, plug it into the card reader and you can access the pictures just like any other drive.

He was thrilled with this. Apparently the card reader assists with the download of pictures to a camera, and it doesn't use as much of the camera's battery than just a plain download direct from the camera to the computer.

They are really cheap right now. Between a $20 instant rebate and a $10 mail-in rebate...ours was free (well - plus tax and the stamp!)

No Sony doesn't make these anymore, but make the CDMavica, the images get burnt on a mini cd. I bought one in June and love it.

Your Granddaughter owes you one. Get her to help;)

I'm pretty camera and computer illiterate......can you explain this to me a bit more? It sounds promising.

***Edited to add ~ I found some info about it and it seems this camera replaced the style of Mavica that I have. It looks like a great camera! Thanks for the heads-up on this one dcg0317.

For HauntedMansionGeek
He's a couple links that might and can explain the camera better than me. It takes great pictures has some good features but is not compact, the only thing I don't like is the zoom feature, It also can take up to 10 mins. of video on a blank cd. Got most of the firework show at MK in Oct. if interest in seeing some picts. PM me with your e-mail add. and I'll send you the link where my photos are on line that I took in WDW in Sept./Oct of this year.
