Hi,
I have two girls - one is turning three and the other just turned 6 - My dilemma is what type of stroller(s) to bring - I know they will both want to ride - I just don't know what to do - We are driving down and can fit whatever we need in our minivan so space is not a problem at least for the ride down! (now on the busses - that might be another problem!) We are staying at All-Stars Music, so we are not on the monorail line.

Here are my options including what we already have or can borrow- The prospect of renting a double stroller from Disney for 13 bucks a day for 7 days really doesn't thrill me!

(A) Baby Trend Expedition double baby jogger - doesn't have the swival tires in front - kinda large and bulky - Seats can recline separately though - may be too big to fit thru entrances?

(B) A Sit and Stand stroller - we would be borrowing this - several moms have told me this is a pain to fold up and a pain to push - I have never tried it - Can't recline front seat if I plan to have my older child on the back seat -

(C) Our regular Evenflo On My Way Stroller - and squishing both girls in - one in the front and one sitting in the back - it would most certainly be the kiss of death for this stroller, but we don't plan to have any more children anyway so that would be okay - again - no reclining for two - and we are going in July so it's gonna be hot as Hades anyway -

(D) Bringing the Evenflo Stroller mentioned above and an extra umbrella stroller - the umbrella is hard to push but it would give extra room - can't store anything in it likea soft sided cooler - it is lightweight so if there isn't a child in it - it tips over if you hang something bulky from the handles.

(E) Another choice that I haven't thought of?

Thanks for listening to my rambling? It has helped a bit just to type it out -

I know a lot of people advocate bringing your own stroller for various reasons, but I never even considered it. We rented every park day, and let me tell you that $13 was well worth it! The park strollers are plenty roomy for your two (mine were 3 1/2 and 5 1/2), and super easy to maneuver. True, you don't have them when waliking from the parking lot to park, but you also don't have to struggle to fold anything up! And since that was the only real walking my girls were required to do, they were fine. You may have to carry the little one out after a late night at MK, but if she's tired and cranky, you'd probably have to carry her anyway, stroller or no stroller!

Our favorite thing for our last 3 trips to WDW for our 2 DD's (now 3 1/2 and 7) was a double side-by-side umbrella stroller. They both fit in it fine, it's easy to manuver, and we saved alot of money on the rental fees.

We've used 2 kinds...the first one I can't remember the brand but I couldn't find one again anywhere when it broke (we used it 2 WDW trips and several local trips). It didn't recline but it had a canopy and a huge basket and it was light and folded easily.

We replaced it with the Kolcarft one. It has no basket but does have the canopy and it reclines. I just bought the netting bags and attached them to the stroller. It folds down to almost an umbrella stroller (the same way) but it's a tad heavier than a regular single umbrella stroller. It worked well for us!

Both of these stroller were around $50.

Here's some similar ones:

double stroller

umbrella this one is just like 2 cheap umbrella strollers stuck together...very lightweight.

You can also take two umbrella strollers and hook them together. I've never done this, but it was recommended on another thread.

Happy Strolling!

Last year we took our 1 & 5 year old boys. We rented a sit andom "A Baby's Best Friend". They' delivered it to the hotel and it was not bad to rent. We took it on' the monorail, the busses and the boats. A little difficul but worth the trouble. Going again in September... not sure since now the boys are 2 and. 6 there will be enought room?

We are researching the same issue. Going in November with 2 sons, ages 6 and 2 1/2. I have a Graco Sit N Stand stoller, but it is way too heavy to be carting on and off buses, but would be ideal in the parks. Now considering buying a double umbrella stroller - much lighter and easier to maneuver, as well as folding. Any suggestions on this idea? Would it work better than the very heavy Sit N STand?

Our last trip my two youngest were 2.5 years and 5 months. We bought 2 cheap umbrella strollers for the boys. They were a big help in the airport (you just give them to the flight attendant when you board). We could hang a couple of small bags (that we needed on the plan with diapers and such) on the back. And since they were two seperate strollers if we needed to split up each parent could take a kiddo if needed. Of course my two oldest were 12 and 15 so they were a big help pushing a such. When we go back Im sure we will take our 2 umbrella strollers again--which we have used a lot here too.
I also found the neatest little clip on fans at Wa;-Mart that would clip onto the stroller to give the boys a little breeze. If you get one make sure it has a canopy on it to give shade from the sun.

We just purchased the new sit and stand ls from Babies R us a few months ago and love it. Contrary to what most people think, my 3 year old can sit on the back while my infant is in the front with it reclined. I am not sure if this is something new with the new design but it can be done easily. Also, sure it is a little heavy but how often are you getting on and off of buses. once in the morning, once in the evening, and maybe a coupl emore if you park hop. But we just let the kids sit in the strolle rtill the bus pulls up, they get out, i fold it up and carry it on. Its like 10 feet then you set it down on the floor of the bus. It's ot that big of a deal.

We brought the Sit and Stand with us last year and it worked out great. Yes, it is a pain getting on and off the transportation but like HoosierFantasia said, it's only a couple times each day. The problem with bringing 2 strollers is that your 6 year old won't want to be in it all the time (our ds was 5 1/2) and you'll end up pushing around an empty stroller half the time. With the sit and stand our younger son rode in the front and the older one could hop on when he was tired.

Renting just seems so expensive to me!

I was just at WDW in April with my 2yo DS and 5yo DS. We brought a Sit N Stand that we bought just for the occasion. They loved it. The oldest could not sit when the baby was sleeping, but he could still stand. He did whine a little about that sometimes, but it was only for a short time each day and we usually tried to do some bigger rides for him during nap time. (Nana would stay with the baby) It was heavy gettin on and off the bus (we stayed at ASSp), but it was worth it. It can also be a little heavy to push up hills, with both kids, stuff in the basket etc.(my DS's were 28lbs and 60lbs) I just had a deal with the oldest that he had to walk up the hills (like if we were taking a monorail).
