I Told You Driving Was Bad For Your Health! *2/2* NEW TRIP REPORT LINK P102

I'm so glad that you're happy with this new job. There's nothing worse then having to get out of bed every morning, knowing you're going to a place you dislike very much.

Here's hoping you get that AAA Disney program! I think you'd have a lot of fun doing it and it's something you would definitely enjoy.

Now i'm curious. Are your beaches as crappy as our Central California beaches? Rocky and trashy?

Dinner sounds fab! Love the picture of the wine bottles, the crooked tree and the bench seating area. Very antique looking :thumbsup2

Uh oh. I see latex gloves behind that sad/disappointed/upset face of yours...

All caught up again! Sorry I missed out on the contest! Sounds like plenty of clues to zero in quickly on the location.

Some really good pictures around the resort and the HHI area!

Vine sounds like a very good dining experience! :cool1: If you go back sometime, try Hudson's Seafood House on the water.......another great place! :thumbsup2

Glad the new job is working out for you so far!!!

I think knowing what's coming as far as the heartburn issue goes makes the buildup worse.:rotfl: But at least it didn't interfere too much with that day's plans. Sounds like it was a wonderful dinner (even if it had to be consumed at 5 o'clock.:rotfl2:). I love that photo with the beach chairs.

Glad to hear the new job is working out well.
And that AAA job sounds pretty cool. Something I think a lot of DISboarders would enjoy doing to make a few extra bucks. :goodvibes

Great update! Love the tree photos, trees like that fascinate me. Dinner looks scrumptious, I'm putting that on the list. Very cool you went to enjoy Monster's Inc on your own. :) the timeshare seminar sounds quite odd.

Glad the job is going well :)

Just take care of yourself, your family, home, and job, MEK. The DIS will be here when you have the chances to check in. Glad the job is going well.

Sorry I have had very, very little time to DIS over the past few weeks, so I am way out of the loop on everyone's reports.

I'm glad to know the new job is going well. It definitely takes a long time to really ease into a new job, hope that happens soon for you. But I'm glad you're back with the patients!

Thanks for the good wishes. It really is nice to be doing "meaningful" work again. I really didn't realize what a toll my old job was taking on me. Once the program closure was announced things went down hill very quickly.

I remember you mentioning the Magic Creator thing, that sounds so amazing! I wish it were available around here. Best of luck Tuesday at your interview!

Thanks. Unfortunately my interview had to be rescheduled because they double booked two of us (long story), so hopefully it will be soon.

Your meal at Vine looks really awesome, sounds like the waitress was great too. Gotta love when it all comes together like that!

I knew it was going to be a top notch meal and it certainly didn't disappoint.

The beach area is absolutely gorgeous, I feel like I would wear out my camera there. I especially love the bits of old fencing in the sand and the beach grass. Reminds me a lot of a beach about two hours from me, Inverness (though we have no palm trees!! :rotfl2: )

It really is a beautiful beach area. Not just the actual beach, but all the surrounding area. It really is special and unique.

Oh dear. I know what's coming and although I know the outcome, I still feel nervous just about reading it!

It makes me a little uneasy just writing about it, but the story must be told.

The new job sounds terrific. So happy for you and glad that you are enjoying it. And Magic Creator... wow! Totally right up your alley. That sounds like a really neat opportunity. What could be more magical than earning some spending money doing something you love!

Thanks C! I am happy things are working out with my new job. I am cautiously optimistic!

Dinner looks delish!!!

Oh, it certainly was! :goodvibes

Love that they do movies on the beach just like in WDW. :thumbsup2

I don't remember them doing that last time I was there, so it was definitely a nice treat! Perfect weather for it, too!

Sounds like some folks are hot on the trail of your super secret location. I don't have a clue! :rotfl2:

Yup, I think it was a race to the finish!

Denny's heartburn is definitely sounding ominous and you do NOT look happy in that last picture!

That was not one of my better self portraits. :rotfl2: I was not happy about the turn of events.

Glad the new job is more up your alley!

Thanks. It's actually the same patient population, but a lot more of them. It's been going well so far.

HHI going on my bucket list. It looks so nice and peaceful. I'm putting that restaurant on my list too. Looks fab!

HHI is a fantastic resort. It really is special and I am now officially going to be a HHI regular! :thumbsup2

Cue the ominous music!

Jill in CO

Yup, cue it up! :sad2:

Is it the Best Western Premier Saratoga Resort Villas???

No! Changing my guess to Polynesian Isles Resort!

Well, Glennbo - Your prize is in the mail. Strong detective work! :thumbsup2

I am glad to hear that your new job is one that you like. :thumbsup2
Thanks Karin. As I said before, I am cautiously optimistic. I have worked at this same health care center before, but in a different capacity. It's nice to be doing something I always wanted to do there.

And that TA AAA thing sounds pretty interesting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks again. My interview got canceled for tonight, so I am waiting to hear when it will be rescheduled. I'll keep you posted.

I just LOVED all the photos in your update. So beautiful and so different. I guess one day we have to visit HHI. ;)

The low country is really different. It's unlike any place I have ever visited before. I really hope to be a regular. :thumbsup2

Ah, the visit that should not have had to happen on vacation is next. So sorry it happened, but so glad you were so insistant and got it all worked out. :goodvibes

Yeah - it was definitely not a wonderful experience at first, but I'm glad I did the right thing and protested his discharge. It made no sense and I started to lose confidence until I met the cardiologist.

I just love how this is not a disney vacation, but is! (even if you have to do the disney activity alone ;))

Exactly! It's totally the Disney vibe at the resort, but there are no parks. Instead there is an amazing beach and great scenery.

I am sorry your next place you end up is not where you would want. What a horrible thing to have to go through on vacation!!!

Well, it could have been a lot worse. But still not on my top ten list of ways to spend my vacation. :(

So glad you are liking your new job and glad you are back with patients. Being a clinician means that is where you want to be! You didn't pick administrative duties like those of us that are insane and apparently enjoy high levels of stress and feeling like elementary school teachers OR professional referees! :rotfl:

:rotfl: Professional referees! :rotfl:

Thanks for the good wishes. It is important to me to do meaningful work. I really enjoy being busy. Not crazy busy, but steady busy. I did not have enough work to do my last couple of months and that made me depressed. :worried:

Was gonna say Polynesian Isles Resort but Glennbo123 beat me to it!

Yeah, yeah, yeah.....Sure you were. :rotfl2: kidding! I know you were on it. Apparently Glen went to church earlier than you did on Sunday. :rotfl2:

The AAA thing sounds wonderful, exciting and perfect for you!!! I am so thrilled about the new job and that despite the technology curve you are back with patients doing what you love and are so gifted at.

Thanks Cynthia. I really was getting bummed out because we didn't have patients to take care of. It was harder on me than I thought.

Very excited about the AAA thing even though they have to reschedule my interview. Bummer!

Beets, squash soup and I could have been your sommelier? All of my most favorite things!!! gah, torture me! I wish, it looks so beautiful and what a lovely lovely dinner.

I always think about you when I order a beet salad. Speaking of which, we have had some amazing beets this summer. Very yummy!

It really was an enjoyable dinner in an eclectic little setting. Loved every minute of it.

I love that you made yourself a beverage and went to the movie. I don't love what is coming next.

The worst part - I wanted a second drink and I texted Denny to bring it to me. Little did I know. :faint:

Enjoyed your update! Great pictures. I love your pictures of pictures. They are fantastic.

Thanks. I always enjoy taking pictures of pictures because they either turn out really good or REALLY bad. :rolleyes1

EThe tiles are really neat.

They are really pretty and so unique to the area. Such a nice touch.

EYour meals all looked and sounded delish! It's nice that you were able to follow up your early dinner with some browsing, scamming and a beverage and movie.

Dinner was fabulous and it was a great evening topped off with Monsters Inc. I was just bummed no one else in my villa wanted to see it with me.

Sad about your next update!

Me too, but the story must be told. :surfweb:

Mary Ellen - hope all goes well with interview reschedule! You would be a great Disney TA

Rebecca

A caught up! :thumbsup2 Your pics make me want to go visit HH. I know from your other report what happens next but pictures with latex gloves in the background are never a good sign! Good luck with your interview, it would be my dream job to help people plan their Disney vacations!

. We met at Longwood Gardens and had a lovely time there.

I adore Longwood. I am lucky that my best friend gets a membership for her Birthday every year so she takes me with her. We both get very depressed in the winter and time in the conservatory is the best medicine ever!

I just renewed my membership yesterday. I took my teen-aged daughters on the 4th and then we went back over the weekend just to take some bread to feed the fish. We had a blast feeding the catfish in the pond in front of the Italian Water Gardens. Those guys are crazy! They'll get right up where you can pet them, and they'll spin around almost like they're doing tricks.

Thanks Mary Ellen -- I received the prize! :)

For anyone curious, it was plastic, flat, rectangular -- about 2x3 inches, red, and had a bulls-eye on it. :scratchin

The walk to the beach is gorgeous.
The meals sounded so good.
All caught up.

Thanks Mary Ellen -- I received the prize! :)

:rotfl: I am embarrassed to admit how long it took me to process that one. Really embarrassed. I practically live at that store!

Beat me to it too. Actually had it before I asked my last question but wanted to put it out there.

Being at a DISmeet with troublesome internet service prevented me from seeing the response and then being able to put my guess out there. :headache:

Pat - I know you were hot on his tail. But I think getting up early and going to church really worked for Glen. He experienced some divine intervention! :rotfl2:

Now onto the update. HHI island looks just so peaceful and wonderful.

It really is. You must get there. It's a lovely place and totally peaceful.

Dinner does sound amazing but your last picture says so much.

My self portrait? I knew I had to photodocument the event, so I took the picture. But it is exactly how I felt at the time.

I always find the beach so relaxing. It was always my go to place as a teen when teen angst was happening. So great to be calmed by the waves.

Definitely. The waves, the sun, the breeze, even the smell. I am craving a little beach action now and now I won't be going anytime soon.

Well, I was right. I don't know nearly enough about the non-Disney resorts and the area outside of the Disney dome (even though I do actually have family that lives in Kissimmee that we visit).:rotfl2: Congrats on the win Glenn. :thumbsup2

I don't know my way around the bubble all that well either, so it was a bit of a process finding the right place to stay. I am actually glad everything fell into place the way it did.

I'm glad that the new job is going well. I understand what you mean about just being a little overwhelmed and having a bit of a learning curve, but I'm glad that you enjoy what you're doing! The AAA thing sounds like a great opportunity. I hope that it works out for you!

I love the patient population I work with. Now if I could just get a little better with the computer side of it I would be golden. I feel very fortunate that I was able to transition to this new position. I hope the AAA opportunity works out too. I really want to book Disney trips. fingers are crossed! :thumbsup2

I can't blame you a bit for all the odd looking tree pictures. Something just fascinating about how some of those old trees got their shape. Only in nature...

Exactly....only in nature. There is something so unique and special about the low country. I just love it there and I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit thanks to DVC. :goodvibes

Great update :)

Thanks. The next one may not be all that great.

Ohh, too late for the contest, but I did get from your clues it was Polynesian Isles! We passed by there every morning to the parks when we were staying at the Wyndham Cypress Palms. Nice!

Really? Did you pass by the road or the actual resort? I have no idea where Cypress Palms is, but I liked that general location. I would definitely stay there again because access was so easy.

Sounds like a good meal! Especially that dessert, oh my goodness! That looks delicious. Not looking forward to the next update. :(

The entire meal was awesome and dessert was especially good. If I had my own piece of cake I am certain I would have finished it.

All caught up! As usual, you make Hilton Head look beautiful and relaxing.:thumbsup2

Welcome back from Hawaii. Did you start a TR yet? :confused3 I must know the minute you do, even though my DIS time has been so limited lately.

HHI is a really fantastic resort. I definitely recommend it if you ever get the chance. Not nearly as cool as Aulani, I'm sure, but so much more convenient.

It's good to hear that you are enjoying your new job. I know that changing over to any new job is a bit stressful but you are getting to do what you like to do and that's see patients.

Thanks and yes, it is a bit stressful. Even though I'm comfortable with all the patients, it's the routines and the patterns of communication and work flow that I really have to learn. I keep telling myself, one day at a time.

Yay for the potential AAA travel agent position! Like you, I've helped a lot of folks plan their Disney trips and never have I gotten compensated for it. I would love to become an agent some day. I'm betting that you'd be really really good at it and would get your client base in no time.

Thanks Lisa. For several years I have been thinking how much fun it would be to plan Disney trips. I figured I would do it when I retired or severely cut back my hours. That's why I am pursuing this. It's something I would really like to do for years to come, so I hope it works out.

:cool1::yay::banana: Fun game Mary Ellen! Thanks!

I thought that Pat had it way back when she was narrowing-down the address, but then I saw how many different resorts there are between those two highways. I definitely needed more clues.

Well, you did a darn good job figuring it out so kudos to you! :thumbsup2

Sorry Bill and Pat. Going to an early church service helped me. I came home and saw the last clue I needed to put it together. :)

I think there was a greater power working in your favor. :rotfl: Hey - whatever works!

Great update!!!
Loving the beach pictues. We have nothing like that around here either. The lakes in Michigan which are fairly close pretty much have a hole in the ground for a bathroom if you are lucky to have that.

Dinner looks fabulous. I am a bit hungry now and that just made it worse!

Big hugs for you while you adjust to your new job and all the life changes. The AAA thing sounds awesome, be sure to keep us posted.

Thanks for the big hugs. I am slowly settling into the new job and very excited about the AAA interview! It is rescheduled for THIS upcoming Tuesday night. I REALLY want to do this!

I'm really enjoying your updates and seeing what this resort and surrounding area has to offer. :goodvibes

HHI and the low country are fabulous! I look forward to multiple trips there. :thumbsup2

Okay...I'm all caught up now. Pictures are beautiful as always.

I should be able to stay on top of things now.

Yay :cool1: for being caught up. wish I could say the same. I feel like I will never stay on top of things again. :faint:

Hope the new job is going well.

So far, so good. I still have a long way to go, but its baby steps to get settled in.

Good luck on the AAA Disney gig. Sounds like fun! Working from Disney at home can't feel like work. Probably will feel like it does here. :cloud9:

My interview was switched to this Tuesday, so hopefully all will go well. I really would like to give this a go!

Dinner looks fabulous and no, you cannot turn down homemade dessert. It's some sort of sacrilege I'm sure of it.

It certainly is! :rotfl2: That dessert was so fantastic. We were foolish to only get one piece. Despite being stuffed, I am certain I could have eaten that whole thing myself! ;)

Love the Atlantic Coast. It looks so different from the West Coast.

Very different. And HHI is very different than the rest of the Atlantic Coast. The low country just has such a magnificent charm. I love it there.

Heartburn. :(

.....or not! :rolleyes1

Glad the new job is going well. The learning curve is no fun but I'm sure you'll be up to speed in no time. It's nice to be with the patients too. I hate all the paperwork that has now accompanied what use to be a patient focused field.

It is nice to work with patients again. I was starting to wonder if I had forgotten how to take care of them. I'm glad it all comes back. :thumbsup2 Ah yes - paper work. Wasn't that supposed to get better with computers? :faint:

Congrats to Glen for his great detective work! :thumbsup2

I agree. He did a good job.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying working with patients once again instead of shutting down a program. Sure makes it nicer to look forward to going to work each day when it's something you love. :)

You got that right! Shutting down was so depressing. I didn't even realize how depressing it was until I was finally removed from it. I never want that experience again.

The Magic Creator job sounds perfect for you. I wish you all the best tomorrow night with your interview. Please feel free to share that you have about 500 people that will give you a great reference from the DisBoards!!

My interview actually got pushed back a week. I am looking forward to it and I hope it goes well. Thanks for the vote of confidence! :goodvibes

Moving on to your updates.... the ceramic tiles at the villa are so beautiful. :) I loved those.

They really are so pretty and easy to miss when you aren't looking for detail. I love the Disney resorts specifically because they give so much in the way of interesting details.

Dinner at Vine looked tasty. I completely get not wanting the 9pm dinner because by that hour I would have already snacked my way to a meal. Sounds like it worked out well. (other than missing your personal wine steward! ;))

Exactly :rotfl2: I would have completely snacked my way to a meal. Dining at 5pm wasn't ideal, but once we were there the meal was so well paced it really didn't matter.

Ugh! Already thinking this is no bueno with your next update. :sad2:

Yup - it's a no bueno update, that's for sure.

I'm so glad that you're happy with this new job. There's nothing worse then having to get out of bed every morning, knowing you're going to a place you dislike very much.

You're not kidding. Going to work at a job you dislike is awful. I had one of those once for about three months. Fortunately for me a great opportunity presented itself and I had an excuse for leaving. If I didn't have that choice I don't know what I would have done.

Here's hoping you get that AAA Disney program! I think you'd have a lot of fun doing it and it's something you would definitely enjoy.

Thank you! I really do hope they offer it to me. I constantly work with people who want to book trips. I would love to be able to book the trips myself. Any money I make is going right to my Disney fund!

Now i'm curious. Are your beaches as crappy as our Central California beaches? Rocky and trashy?

The mid atlantic beaches are not rocky at all. And because they are major, major tourist attractions they are all kept very neat. Tons of money is spent on beach replenishment. The beaches in Maine are rocky and quite dramatic. They are really lovely. Trash is definitely not a problem on the east coast.

Dinner sounds fab! Love the picture of the wine bottles, the crooked tree and the bench seating area. Very antique looking :thumbsup2

It was a great dinner on so many levels. The restaurant itself was really unique, the waitress was awesome, the wine was terrific, and the meal was very well paced. We really enjoyed it.

Uh oh. I see latex gloves behind that sad/disappointed/upset face of yours...

Not my best self portrait - but it pretty much captures how I felt!
