by never buying anything again!!!!!!

while packing stuff to move i keep coming across multiples of things that there is no reason to have multiples of (NOONE needs 15 wooden spoons or 7 bbq brushes or 20 odd package of the same size batteries-all with just one battery missing :sad2: ) all of which were purchased because we could'nt find the original items or one of said "remember it broke the last time we used it and now we need a new one"

fortunatly the church is having a fund raising garage sale and can benefit from our waste-but NO MORE!! from now on-if something breaks it's going on a master list, it's not getting replaced until it's needed, and if someone can't find something and it's not on the list they will have to do without!

and i'm gonna save my money for valuable purchases-like trips to disney, and massages, and mud baths

I often wonder how much money I could have saved if I hadn't bought all these clothes that I never wear. No telling how many trips I could have made to the World. :sad2:

That is funny! I often wonder what happens to all my pencils and pens in our house. I bet if we had to move, I'd find enough to last me a lifetime! :sunny:

so far i have located enough pens, pencils and crayons to fill about 2 shoe boxes (they will be stashed and given out sparingly :teeth: ).

This is how I feel about things in our basement. I know we have a lot of stuff down there that we just can't find because it's a mess, so we end up buying a new one of something because that is easier.

As far as clothes...I have gotten better about buying more mix & match stuff. I basically buy all neutral colored bottoms (black, khaki, navy, white, gray) and blazers in colors that will match the neutral colored bottoms (red, black, navy, a floral with a black backbground). Where I inject color is with my tops & accessories. As far as clothing goes, tops can be the least expensive items to purchase, so if I get a couple that are in style for a season or two, and then go out, it's not as much of an expense.

I can relate.

I am liking the fact that my son will be going for his driver's license later in the year because he's been having NO interest in video games anymore. I honestly think it will be cheaper to buy him a good used car, pay his insurance (actually ours with an increase) and give him some gas money here and there than it would be to keep up with all the new games and systems. We literally put thousands into those stupid games in any given year.

I don't really have any major collections of anything because I go thru and clean house at minimal once a year. I am so sick of looking at things that EVERYTHING that's not been touched recently, goes at that time!

Ditto Disney Doll.

We have so much stuff now in the basement that DS and DD are home from college with all their stuff.

LOL!!! I remember a few years ago Oprah had on a lady who saved up a million dollars on her low salary. We were supposed to be amazed. But really all she did was clip coupons and never did anything fun or frivolous. What's the point? :confused3
