I thought TRex was taking DDR??? Am I wrong??

I was wondering if this restaurant is going to be on the dining plan. Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Kelly

I really thought T Rex was taking the dining plan, am I wrong??? :confused3

1) They are not currently slated to take DDP.
2) They are owned by Landry's.
3) Landry's, outside of a park, does not take DDP.
4) DDP does not reimburse enough for Landry's.

NOTE: Most DTD restaurants are not on DDP for the same reimbursement issue.

 :guilty:  :badpc: :(
NO!! I really thought it was on the dining plan!!!! NOOOOOOooooooo

1) With the exception of Yak & Yeti (inside a park), Landry's is not on DDP.
2) T-Rex should be no exception.
3) If DDP increases the reimbursement, it might happen for T-Rex & RFC.
4) The other option is for Landry's to cut the menu selections or downsize the dishes.
5) Now, it is a case of which would people prefer?
. . . put on DDP with small portions
. . . put on DDP with limited menu items
. . . put on DDP with few/no unique food items
. . . pay out of pocket for a unique experience

NOTE: For those who elect to not buy DDP so they can have unique experiences at eateries that do not take DDP, might consider the new T-Rex a poor choice if things were cut back to allow the eatery to be on DDP. Besides, RFC (and probably T-Rex) is so busy that they do not need DDP to being people into the eatery.

T-Rex is going to be so crowded that it won't matter whether it's on the dining plan or not - and I am sure Landrys knows that

Does RFC in DTD take reservations? I am trying to figure out if I can get reservations for dinner or lunch for our Janaury trip once the T-Rex opens in the fall. I know Disney SDR won't be an option (at least Ia m assuming as much) but wondering if I could schedule directly through the restuarant?

Response I got directly from T-Rex:

Thank you for your inquiry into the new T-Rex Orlando! At this time our restaurant is scheduled to open in mid October of 2008 and we will be on a walk-in basis only until 2009. You may check our website at anytime for updates on our opening. If you are in the Disney area and are looking for a WILD time, call one of our Rainforest Café properties for a priority seating. We have one located at the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park which you can reach at 407-938-9100 and one at Downtown Disney Marketplace (a block away from our new T-Rex site) which can be reached at 407-827-8500.

Thank you again for your e-mail and we look forward to your visit!
