I thought Disney Dollars were available....?

at the Disney store?? I just spent my lunch hour at the World of Disney in NYC and they don't carry them. The two employees I asked said that they only have them in the parks now. Bummer. Is this true??

Wow... I thought they were in the stores too! You can order them from WDW, but it's just not the same.

We've been getting them at our local Disney store for the past month or so (go in every Saturday to stock up!). We've been able to get 10's, 5's & 1's, but no $50s. The employee thinks the 50's will only be available in the parks.

How can you order them from Disney? I would like to get some 50's!!

I work in the Disney Store and we sell them (just sold some yesterday). We only carry 1's, 5's and 10's. The World of Disney Store in NYC is owned by Disney, The Disney Stores are owned by the Children's Place as of November. So, perhaps the World of Disney isn't carrying them anymore. People love buying them ahead of time or for gifts, so I hope we continue to carry them. I haven't heard any different.

I've never done it myself, but I know there was a thread on this subject a little while ago. It involved faxing an order.

I just bought some DDs at our local TDS sat.

From what my local Disney Store manager said......$5's go the fastest(Stitch is on them) but that they only get a set amount of all a shipment...and once they are out of them they have to wait for the next shipment....I think she said once a quarter.

I was told about a month ago at a Disney Store that they did not have them because they were redesigning them. I have not been back there to check though.

I got some from the ST. Louis Mall and they were the same ole DD's. The only new ones they had were the Stitch $10, which were all gone. They still had the 2000 dollars.

Can Disney Dollars be exchanged back for cash if you don't use them at WDW? Can they be used everywhere in WDW? Can they be used in the Disney Store too?

I was at the NYC store last weekend.. the guy in front of me was redeeming some & wanted the change in DD.. they said they couldn't do that anymore & then stamped the ones he redeemed with a VOID stamp - said they were replacing them with some sort of Gift/Debit Card. I commented that they will now become more collectible since they were voiding the outstanding ones... the clerks seemed surprised when I told her people collect the different versions & even sold them on Ebay....

That's very interesting. I could see Disney transitioning to a electronic card system. Guess we'll see what the Disney store offerers up eventually.

Yep - you're right - The World of Disney, simply does not carry them. I asked a long time ago when Disney Dollars weren't to be had at the Disney Store (I had so many gift certificates for the Disney Store - because no one could buy Disney Dollars for me).

I was told by one of the workers that only the Disney Store sells them and that I could also call Disney World and have them shipped to me.

Wow, you are good - you go home with DD's. That has only happened once (by accident) - I found a Goofy $5 in a zip pocket in my fanny pack - trust me - I FIND stuff to buy at Disney - I would resort to bringing stuff home for others before I left Disney with known dollars - or with the $5 I bought home - I would have went out of my way to find that Turkey Leg booth!!! How does that sound - or look!!!
