I think we found a Tick in the house

It looked like a tick from a picture I had - we do have a cat. What if one gets attached to someone in the house?
 
Use a tweezer and grab as close to the head as possible and pull straight out. Make sure you get all the pieces. Keep the area clean. A tick has to be on the body at least 24 hours before it can spread Lyme and not all ticks carry Lyme. I don't even know if Lyme Disease is prevalent in your area. Very prevalent here. Yup! here on thar ferm...we find ticks all the time!.....just pick 'em up....and crush 'em...dernt burn 'em...and make sure to use anti-tick n flea med's on yer pets! :)
 

Actually, it was on a wall. I think it was a tick - I hope it wasn't!
