I was looking at their site for 2017 dates - they do not have a number less than 5 for the first 2 months of the year and even into the first two weeks of March - the new reality may have finally sunk in with them as they have been wrong for a long time! :upsidedow

I have to say this forum provides much better guidance on how to be equipped to handle the crowd levels at DLR than any website out there - suggestions on how to arrive before park opening, always try to have a fast pass in your hand at all times for an upcoming ride, and focusing on shows and less busy attractions during the heaviest times of the day - and of course making sure you set your expectations accordingly and bring plenty of patience!

I know that allowed us to have a great and very productive visit even though it was the busiest we have ever seen the parks!

And now with dynamic pricing they might as well throw away all their attendance models and start from scratch.

Dynamic pricing only applies to single day tickets - I can't see how that is going to alter things all that significantly - I guess only time will tell.

I would think they make up a significant number of guests at DLR since day trippers usually only buy a one day ticket.

I guess I find that hard to wrap my mind around - I can't imagine going to DLR for 1 day, almost boggles my mind to be quite honest.

Lots of locals do it for their kids or grand children every year or every couple of years. It's gotten so expensive to live in Southern California, and attend Disneyland, that a large family cannot afford anything more than one day at one park. For a family of 4 or 5 with admission, parking, food, and merchandise etc for the kids and you are talking about a significant amount of money.

I wonder how it will be mid-May? Last year when we went, it rained every day and the lines were gloriously short, but I doubt we'll be so lucky this time.

Are there any threads you recommend reading? i was going to buy touring plans but maybe not now.

Just start a thread in this forum and ask about what dates you are considering and you will get a number of quality suggestions as to the crowd levels, events, and everything else for those days. You do not need to spend a dime on some service like touring plans (that is totally inaccurate) when you have a bunch of people who love disney and love to talk about anything/everything disney and will be glad to assist you.

I don't think rain is all that common for May so you likely lucked out - I'd say mid May if the weather is nice will be quite busy - I mean when January and February are busy, then May is going to be worse!
