Welcome to Louisiana folks…. Sadly we’ve (in the collective Louisiana sense) have placed these kinds of politicians in office over and over and over again. The truth of the matter is that Orleans and Jefferson Parishes have done it us on a regular basis for over 50 years. Those Parishes are the “800 pound gorilla” that controls the elections in Louisiana due to their numbers and uncanny ability to deliver “votes.” The sad fact is that “on election day” the busses you’ve seen flooded roll like clockwork filled with willing participants to “pull the lever” and keep them there.

To that end, should former Senator John Breaux (La.) manage to get himself either on the “commission” (going to be a joke) or have Anything to do with the money to be spent on the rebuilding effort, We ( La. Collective ) and WE the taxpaying citizens are going to be wondering where the money went.

I’m not calling the man a thief. However, that “good ole boy network” will be bursting at the seams with inflated costs and there is NO telling what the money will really be spent on.

Please folks…contact your Congressional Rep and your Senator. Stop this before it gains the first ounce of traction.. LOL YOUR / our money is riding on it!!

I saw an interview with him yesterday, I think it was on CNN. I couldn't believe it! He really sounded as if he did nothing wrong. And he's mad they broke his window!

Two Richardson firefighters recently headed to Louisiana believing they would help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Instead, they were asked to do little – except stand behind President Bush at a news conference.

Firefighters Billy Whitson and Noel Saldivar were among six Richardson firefighters who responded to a call by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for firefighters to pass out pamphlets, write reports and help hurricane victims sign up for federal assistance.

....After spending a couple of days training in Atlanta, Mr. Whitson said that he and Mr. Saldivar were flown Sept. 5 on a charter flight to New Orleans, where they were supposed to stand in the background with other firefighters while Mr. Bush held a news conference. But the president didn't make it to his planned appearance in New Orleans that day.

Mr. Whitson said the group of 50 firefighters were then put on a bus headed for Baton Rouge, where the president was scheduled to meet with evacuees, Gov. Kathleen Blanco and other officials. But the firefighters didn't arrive in time for those presidential visits....
